That young central midfielder for Morocco looks class

Brazil don’t have the legs in central midfield, doesn’t matter how good the wingers are, they can’t go deep in the competition playing like this. Joelinton would actually be good for them instead of Paqueta. They need someone with an engine in the middle there.
-
Brazil squad looks very light at full back. A long way from the days of Carlos and Cafu

Robbed is a bit much, like many of us have said Switzerland win that easily on any day the goalie isn't playing like Yashin, Banks and Schmeichel somehow crosasbred and had a super-baby. Qatar had a few good chances but on another day that's like a 5-1 or a 4-1 to Switzerland.
Keeper wasn’t that great… he was decent, a 7 or 8 out 10 maybe. He did give away a pen as well. He made 5 saves and prevented 0.47 xG… Switzerland were quite ridiculous pissing about in front of goal. They were lazy in the final third, and they looked like they thought they would just win by turning up. They deserved what they got in the end for not putting the game to bed.

World Cup iz ere and it’s ****in ****in buzzin -
Watched the USA highlights… is it just me or was the atmosphere significantly better than the Mexico game?

Partey has been banned from entry to Canada to play for Ghana for being on trial for rape and sexual assault.
who wants to bet America lets him in because his passport doesn’t say Somalia on it?

Korean fans were excellent, better atmosphere than the Mexico game.
Reckon they win the group on the evidence so far.

If he is Leicester manager I’ll have a ropey but maaaaaybe plausible excuse if my wife checks my search history and finds Lucy Pinder’s name in there

For those of you who turned off already… they just cut to the “couch” of the American pundits on ITV and showed some footage and laughed at “Gareth Southgate getting into American culture, look at wearing a cowboy hat!”. Great. Only issue is that it was very clearly Graham Potter. Unbelievable lack of basic knowledge of even recent major personalities in the game
they refer to at least one of those pundits as an American “football expert”

Okay, other angle of the second red card, it does look like a proper slap. It is a red with that evidence. But that evidence was not shown on VAR.

Alarm set for the next one.
Hope it's a better tempo and with someone who's reffed before.
I hope you’re not in England, but if you are, I respect the dedication

I still can't believe just how flat this crowd has been.
Yeah I have been a bit disappointed, I guess it comes down to the ticket prices, probably keeping away a lot of ultras/working class, replaced with tourists and middle class

Ruining players tournaments on the first game
I’m guessing Mexico will appeal theirs and SA maybe also appeal the second one. Madness. Assuming appeals are allowed… god knows with FIFA organising it

What the **** is going on here… I know they changed the rules… but did they just tear up the book?
-
Mexico player fell over and it wasn’t a red card to the South African guy near him? Where is the consistency
-
Both reds are harsh, but that one was ridiculous

Why is the final not in the Azteca
as usual, FIFA can get in the bin for pissing all over football heritage and choosing money over it.

I.e. surpassing South Korea's semi-final in 2002? I mean, that tournament obviously had many questionable/blatantly wrong decisions go in their favour, but I feel that's a big ask from Japan. I haven't looked at the draw, but getting out of the group will not be easy either. If Sweden find some mojo, they will be a threat. Tunisia are notoriously hard to beat too.
I just mean they are just a better side than that South Korea team who were very… fortunate… shall we say, to make it as far as they did. With Mitoma I could see them going last 8, who knows, maybe beyond. They are tactically very good for an international side, their games should be good watches.

Hope they get through and face USA and feck them up.
Can you imagine what Trump and Infectile will come up with
If USA and Iran come second in their groups, they will meet in round of 32 in Dallas…

Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland
in World Cup 2026

This England midfield, on paper at least, works better together than any other in my lifetime (my memory goes back as France 98).
