Most of our loanees seem to be in their twenties , do they really need to be playing in struggling championship teams. From what I have seen of Dewsbury- Hall he is plenty good enough to play premiership football and with Praets injury and Tielemans heavy workload ,we could have used him this season .

Harvey initially took a lot of stick on this forum when he returned from WBA . The sheer necessity to up his game in the premiership has made him the player we now see.

Its not so much the academy , its the loan system. Does it improve or damage players. Chilwell and Barnes got better by playing against top players in the premiership. Thomas will almost certainly do the same.

Players we have loaned out who have returned to be major parts of the team King, Chilwell and Barnes. Pretty poor results for ten years or more .Does it work? For god's sake don't do it to Thomas.

If we need a midfielder , which is debatable, I would try for Loftus-Cheek ,who seems unwanted by Chelsea. I suppose he would fetch 30 million and want 120 grand a week but would give us size and power where we lack it.

Playing out from the back is a sure way to lose against them , Kasper should have booted it as far as he could and waited for a mistake . Rodgers always wants to win pretty . It never worked against Barca and it doesn't work against Man.City.

With Jotta back, Liverpool will make a late run , we can't afford to lose two in a row.

Put all that with strength, skill and vision and you have a world class player.

Man Utd out muscled them in midfield, we can't do that. That will be Dortmund's tactics. They press very quickly and you need to hold them off. Utd. did not try to outplay them , you will lose if you try.

With Barnes injured , the current first choice City team has no academy players in it. Signing new players( except the much needed striker) will only make it even more difficult for these younger players to get a chance. If we do not use them ,we will definitely lose them . Remember we are one of the top clubs in Europe and we need a proper development of young players.

We need a striker with Kane's physical presence urgently. The ability to be in the right place at the right time is more important than clever skills. We need a Van Nistelroy clone.
