  1. But Kompany didn't go to one of the big clubs in England. Neither did Klopps academy coach. So the analogy doesn't work. The original point was saying that Chelsea shouldn't be looking at our calibre of manager. Thats simply wrong.
  2. Man U have stuck through long and bad periods with Ten Haag. I think they would give someone time if they are doing the job well. Chelsea i agree with, but i think how you handle yourself with the board is as important as what you do on the pitch. Maybe Bowley and co realise that a different approach is needed and would rather buy into a project. Who knows - those guys are lost on me.
  3. If Mckenna goes to Brighton, then i think we have a big shout for Potter i reckon. Think someone like him can big the club up like Enzo did and with points deductions it will be a free hit. Not Potters biggest fan, but would prefer this to Cooper or Robins.
  4. The dreaded Percy post.
  5. Really? Arteta went straight to Arsenal from being Peps no 2. Even in the old days the likes of Daglish went straight to a player manager role. This isn't unheard of. Think time working under Pep at Man City is seen as a very strong apprenticeship. Likewise McKenna's time at Man U will be looked in high regard. Both have experience at the biggest clubs, and have nailed their Championship seasons. Think Enzo's stock is higher than many want to admit on here. I actually think Frank is the outlier in the mix. Don't for one minute think he is an option.
  6. How about we sign Fatawu as soon as the window opens. Enzo joins Chelsea and we get 8 mil compo. Then Fatawu starts posting on Twitter it was always his dream to play for Chelsea and Enzo. Sell for 80 mill. Sell KDH to Chelsea for 50 mill as well. And Mads for 20 million FFP sorted.
  7. Also at odds with Brightons style?
  8. Try as you might - it will get you nowhere. We can only by judged on Plymouth away and nothing else.
  9. We know the philosophy Enzo is looking to play and we know how it's going to be structured (inverted stuff, wingers and all that jazz), but we don't know what the squad is going to be nor do we know if he will setup more defensively minded like he did earlier in the season or push for a higher line like he did latter half. Couldn't give a crap what Balague says in his pieces and any way i think Burnley recruited poorly (such as buying top dollar for a Man City keeper with 0 top flight minutes). Until anyone sees the squad and how we setup first game of the season, its all conjecture and as relevant as comparing a Dean Smith setup with last seasons Luton or Shff Utd side.
  10. I don't understand why people harp on about Burnley. Enzo isn't Kompany. We don't yet know how Enzo will approach it. And other clubs have been relegated too and many system struggle, not just Burnley. Moyes took a West Ham team loaded with talent to an inch of relegation last season and his West Ham team have been in relegation form for the final 3rd of this season, with FAR better players than we currently have. But if thats what people aspire to then fair do. My brother is a West Ham fan and goes to many matches, so a little more informed that the 5 minute clips you get of Bowen on match of the day.
  11. Didn't do bad for someone 'struggling' did he. 97 points. The way people harp on you would think we scraped through via the playoffs. Moyes would be a dreadful appointment.
  12. lol. You know full well the prompt will be 'Manage the team like Pep'.
  13. I dont see it like that. Any more risky than mid table than Potter had them? Surely the least risky option was keeping Poch who actually got a song out of them last 3rd of the season. I think Enzo has pretty decent stock out there and i think their ownership are at that stage where they think they probably need the Man City identity. Chelsea aren't like us. If Enzo messes up they will just fire him and pay the £30 million severance and sell a hotel or 2. Then get Lampard in for the rest of the season. They can take that risk as they will alway be 'fine'. As times go on, i think more experienced heads are less likely to take this job. What Enzo might not know is how sh1te the Chelsea fans are. SB is full of entitled moaners who hate everything about the club (well apart from Roman). Father in law is a Chelsea fan and even when they were winning is was as if he hated the club and everything to do with football.
  14. I liked Lookman. Not as good as many seem to think he was but i am delighted he has kicked on. Its nice to see players work hard and improve, and hopefully his time here helped him on that journey. Scored a few important goals like the Liverpool one. Went through a long unfancied spell though, so i am not sure everything was as rosy as Brendan likes to make out. But, goals were not our problem last season. We scored enough to be upper mid table. The pi55ing around in defence (still can't believe how much we played Amartey), a captain who had no leadership credentials and was a massive sicknote, playing Ward for a huge chunk of season, and the worst defensive midfield option possible were our downfall. Not sure how Lookman would have changed any of that.
  15. Anyone saying Moyes needs to add their credentials to their post. If the answer is 'watched Match of the Day twice this season' then they should be banned.
  16. If he is genuinely the one they want (which we dont know) then how many times does this opportunity come along? Chelsea is a job every manager will fail at but doing so doesn't hurt your stock. Don't take it now, and its likely you aren't top of their list next time as new incumbent managers appear on the scene. So much press and agent noise, i'm trying not to get worked up about it. If Chelsea really want him then its over, and it would be for any manager really out of the big 6. But Chelsea being Chelsea, they probably haven't got a clue and its all noise right now.
  17. If Enzo goes surely there is another bald b@astard in waiting from the Man City 'academy'?
  18. I presume those saying Moyes only watch the snippets that end up on Match of the Day.
  19. It's only the Chelsea job that does this, and it happens everytime they sack someone. If they hire Mckenna and sack him by Christmas it will be the same list and same merry go round. You would have thought Brendan would have got this gig at some point. Maybe he needs to spend a season as Peps number 2?
  20. Yeah. Think it’s likely to happen now.
  21. I was joking about Mourinho!
  22. He's turned us down before. He can **** off.
  23. Well it was 1.5 seasons, and it got worse and worse. No to Cooper.
  24. This thinking does my head in. We'd have been bonkers to have sacked him by Christmas.
  25. Enzo now favourite on Betfair exchange.
