Nacho will give him a run for his money.
-
If this is the only reason we don’t play him, then he is going to lose more than 5 million of his value rotting doing nothing. Would be surprised if he doesn’t feature at some point.

Im flip flopping between going for it, or just playing kids. I have a really bad feeling about this fixture. The likes of Jota get away with anything and didn't we end up with Riccy and Vardy injured following this fixture a few years back? The thought of having Winks, JJ, Faes, KDH or Ndidi injured from this really concern me.

It has to work from a wages perspective though. Doing so takes a squad place up and wages that could be used for another player or 2. I just don't see the odd 20 minutes being value for money on the wages he will demand. I feel this season will likely be it, but if we get promoted it would be the most wonderful end. Do we not feel there are options to sell Nacho and Vestergaard in January? The situation with Vesty is very different now and in January there could be several Prem teams with Injuries who would be willing to take this on. The salary will be a sticking point but a lower fee may help compensate, but i think he might now be seen as a solid signing where as before it would likely have been a punt. I think any club in the bottom 6 of the PL would take a punt on Nacho if they were desperate for Survival. Appreciate Afcon gets in the way. Agree about a new contract for Ndidi, and part of me things he will do it.

Because we are riding high in the PL right now? Like it or not, it is. Fulham will likely be mid table this season. Even if we go up we have a lot of work to do to get to that level.

Current financial situation of the club

We have a bloke called Coady. Come January there will be CB injuries galore in the PL. Shifting Vestys wages and replacing should be a priority. The redemption story is lovely, but he’s not the future for us. Makes it more difficult but it’s doable. Bottom 6 in the PL will likely gamble on his wages. -
Burnley spent about 100 million including a highly regarded Goalkeeper. If its going to cost us more than next season to even compete then god help us.
-
Last season we were the only club on 1 point after 6 games (feking horrible to recall that). Right now there are 3 teams on 1 point and Bournemouth on 3 without a win. If only we had scraped through there would have been so much dross to help us rebuild around this year. I wonder if Sheffield Utd look at what Bournmouth did last season and think pulling the trigger on Heckingbottom is the right thing to do?

I think we need to be very cut throat in January and hope we don't lose someone important. Dread someone putting a silly offer in for KDH. Ndidi seems really happy - maybe we can get him to sign a new deal? I think he can take this role into the PL. Nacho we should sell. Won't be getting huge offers but lets offload now and get this out of the way. Send Praet to Torino and hope we never see him again. Sell Vestergaard as well. Again, won't be getting huge offers but after his renaissance there will be suitors. Albrighton and Vardy need to retire end of season. Choudhury i am not sure. Depends how he performs in the next few games to see if a new deal is worth it. -
It was Uni arrivals day yesterday and Freemans Common was unusually packed. All the parents were leaving at the same time as those who went to the match. Took us over an hour to get out of the car park which normally only takes us a few minutes.

Forest were not comfortable at all, and played an Arsenal team at the end who had given up. They had luck like I had never seen before. Agree that the 3 promoted teams this season all look in deep trouble. If we do go up, next season is going to be tough. I’d love to think we could become mid table mediocrity but we will likely be hugging the bottom few for most of the season.

Barnes injured by the looks of it.
-
Can’t be long before they roll out Lampard again.
-
And his response to it. Still a stark difference to how Nacho has responded. Been very impressed with how Ndidi has taken this opportunity. It’s like he wanted to prove it to himself.

Without the last 10 minutes when we were all over Newcastle (i think we had them on the ropes with 70% + possession) . We tried the smash and grab by actually trying the 'grab' part. We should have done it. Could you imagine having Mads in that game? A keeper who was actually able to kick the ball to a player. If i recall, with 1 minute left Iversen just booted it out of play and Deano went mental.

Doyle is still a development prospect. JJ is more experienced. It's been clear that Maresca rates him and it's clear JJ has put a lot of work in to be useful in this system. I agree that JJ looked much better and far pacier. But Doyle will improve significantly too. The problem with JJ is well known. Not long back from another serious injury. It will be a concern if we are in the position that he has to be picked for every game. If JJ can find a way to ramain injury free he will be a beast at PL too.
-
I think i heard them 2 or 3 times in the game. Most noticeably as Vardy stepped up to the penalty. Idiots. Imagine rating some of your players 7/8 and 9 after that!
-
Just watched the extended highlights. Mavadidi didn't really do much wrong. He clearly was trying to be less selfish (played square to KDH when there was a tough shot on) but some of these chances didn't quite come to him cleanly. You can't always just wallop it.

Bang on. After the defensive woes of the last 2 PL seasons it's nice to be see us in that 'best defence in the league spot'. Earlier on i was of the opinion that the system was holding us back, and we should just going out and trying to cane everyone playing 4-3-3 or even 2 up top. But i'm pretty sure that would have led to some 4-3 scorelines, not always in our favour! 5 goals conceded as you say - can't say fairer than that.
-
Yesterday was an absolute battering, just not in scoreline. They had 1 shot on target and i think only 2 shots off - that tells you everything you need to know . They had no friggin corners at all ffs. Not one moment for a commentator to say 'well this was always Leicester's issue......'. Prior to this i consider the 4-1 against Southampton a battering too. Vardy has adapted very well to how we are playing, but yesterday was just the wrong side of a few crosses. I posted elsewhere, Bristol played appallingly and literally just sat back to try and soak up everything. They were a few excellent blocks and a bit of luck away from losing 2 or 3-0. A lot of the creativity is coming from the wings. Fatuwu looks like he was born to play our system and Mavadidi is generating lots of chances as well. But to be fair, if we have to win another 35 games 1-0 like this to get promoted then so be it.
-
I agree we made them look poor. But you expect the opposition to do something in that game. Even Huddersfield (albeit at theirs) went man to man with us, but Bristol literally sat there and took it for 90 minutes. I watched a few videos beforehand where the warnings were they had pacy and pressing attackers, to the point where i felt we should be playing JJ as they would look to exploit Doyle. Absolutely nothing! I think it was @StriderHiryu who said they turned up to get 0-0. But even after going 1-0 down it felt their tactic was to stay at 1-0. I believe their free kick at the end was their only shot on target? Simply no where near good enough from them if they have hopes of making the playoffs.

The games Stolarczyk played he looked very good as well, and kept 2 clean sheets. He was able to play the same role and looked comfortable with his feet. Training with Mads will be doing him the world of good. The sad day Mads moves on Stolarczyk will be an excellent keeper in his own right doing this role. I think we are actually quite well served in this department right now.
-
We met him after the game. My son told him he is awesome (my boy is a keeper) and I told him he is a beast. It’s almost cheating having him. His footwork is on a different planet compared to anything else in this division. He’s only going to get better. When we do sell I think it’s going to be for a lot of money.
-
Needs a new deal.
-
Winks awesome. I think we need to give Wilf a new deal. JJ better than Doyle. Vardy sh1t house had us in stitches. I thought Bristol were awful. Worst I have seen at the KP for a long time.
