There a tonne of games next season and Alves injury record isn’t great. But what we have got to see is the manager not favouring experience for the sake of it. If Alves is performing then Chaplin should be the rotation option.

Braybrooke misses a bit of physicality though. Kind of feel him and Alves may end up competing for the same position. Skipp can get in the bin - worse than any of the academy midfielders. Carr really impressed me - i had never seen him before even when watching a few academy games. Very pacey and skilful. Was doing things no other wingers could do, where we seem to always usually cut in.

Yeah, but as much as i dont have any complaints today i dont believe this at all. If he had the option to bring in 11 experienced players who would have more of a chance of getting promoted, he would take it. If the squad he had today was mid table by christmas, he wouldnt be 'relishing' improving them, he wouldbe demanding resources. Take it all with a pinch of salt.

Early days but no complaints today. Silly really, but I feel managers are at their best when they cant completely adopt their preferred systems 100% - this was always why i felt it went wrong with Brendan, as early on his was adapting. Think Russell will be ok this coming season, as he will have to adapt to support the youth in the side. If we are successful and he starts making demands in the Championship, thats when i think problems will start to come.

Interesting how we all have different takes. I thought Woyo was ok but looks a bit scrappy. Clear patterns of play and quick transitions out from the back. My list: Positives: Alves on a different level. Actually fear he shouldn't be playing at this level and would be worried about him going if this continues. Riley was a joy to watch, Wilson-Brown looked good and Ochere looked decent. Thought Page (apart from his corners) and Braybrooke were 'OK' but a level behind Alves. Nothing to really save but thought Vietes was positive. I liked Aluko who played a difficult role. Not Sure: High hopes for Evans but he struggled. Commentators were saying Opoko looked good but im not sure i agree. Woyo ok but scrappy, and Hamza and Luke were a bit anonymous but tidy. Not convinced: Nelson disappointed me. Think Hutchinson looks like he is still away from the this level but nice shot at the end. Been a supporter of Jakub but it looked like watching him last season still. Other than the goal Mavididi still looks leggy. Bin: Okoli simply awful. Thought Wout was crap (and clearly not playing the same style as everyone else). Bobby looked about 2 levels down from Alves and i thought Skipp continues to be a player who can't succeed at any level.

Thought you got them mixed up 🙂I think Aluko grew into the game in the last 15 mins or so. Russell had him inverting and not sure how that will work with better opposition.
