If we went down we'd probably take hits on a few too. Soumare would have only a year on his contract so we'd probably take a low fee for him. Vardy will be out of contract. Buo goes back to Brighton. Daka and Riccy P will also only have a year left so we'd be open to letting them go for next to nothing you'd imagine. Someone is bound to go for Faes.

Our entire backline have issues defending tbf. They need more help from the midfielders. If we're going for this 3box3 setup then the 2 at the bottom need to be able to shift. Nobody seems to cover the gaps. The Doctor mentioned it but despite Winks and Soumare being largely decent for us this season, perhaps there's an issue playing them together, because they don't both seem to provide either enough defensive cover or enough attacking impetus. I'm not really sold on the benefits of the 3box3 system when the fullback becomes a part of that front 3.

With us knowing we were going to score 6 today he should definitely have started.

But in this system it's not as simple as saying it's his side. That implies that it's where he should be, but given he's supposed to be getting forward and attacking, when that's happening Coady is the RCB of a back 3. He (Coady) is supposed to cover that side along with one of the CMs if the opposition win possession and quickly transition up the pitch.

But that doesn't work. JJ was our RB today, he just pushed up the pitch as RvN wants the fullback to get on the wing and the "winger" comes inside. If you play JJ at right wing AND an RB, which of Bilal or Buo are you dropping? Cos we aren't allowed to play 12.

100% we don't have a proper defensive midfielder. And it's questionable if Wilf is still up to that role. The 2 worst players for us today are Winks and Coady imo. With JJ moving up field and our defence going to a 3, Coady has covered the space JJ would usually have occupied and he's been crap. Winks gave the first goal away covering that area too. We need a DM (or just a competent CM) that knows when to cover that space AND can do something with the ball instead of playing the opposition in. Your spiel on Soumare though is well wide of the mark.

Was literally going to just say that now we have a comfortable lead we just need to keep cool heads and not let complacency creep into our play. And then Winks. So he's at fault for both goals now under no threat at all.
