Those present were therefore not in a position to confirm or comment on individual reports or speculation. Fan representatives expressed frustration at the limited information available and emphasised the strong supporter desire for greater clarity on the subject due to its potential implications for the Club’s long-term future and security. They asked that their concerns and the strength of supporter feeling be appropriately conveyed. The FAB also discussed the Club’s financial position. Club representatives reiterated that the Club continues to operate normally and meet its financial obligations, noting that it continues to benefit from the ongoing support of the ownership. It was explained that costs continue to be managed responsibly and reduced where appropriate, while balancing the aim to maintain the Club’s ability to compete effectively and progress from its current position. Fan representatives sought reassurance about the longer-term financial position in the context of ongoing ownership speculation, including the implications should the circumstances or intentions of the current ownership change. Fan representatives emphasised the importance of appropriate supporter engagement should there be any future change in ownership. Examples from elsewhere in football were referenced, alongside the potential relevance of league and regulatory requirements in such circumstances.
