Whether people agree with that or not, whilst you might argue we don't have a Prem standard squad, we do have a squad equal to or better than enough teams to avoid the drop. We might not have a squad equal to Spurs, or Villa, or the likes of West Ham. But how does it stack up against Saints, Everton, Ipswich, Wolves, Forest, Bournemouth?

He was our best player against Spurs, got an assist vs Fulham and a goal vs Villa. I see no reason he can't start. So far our most productive player. We're a side lacking ideas at the attacking end of the pitch and so far he's been the only one who's produced them in every game.- 318 replies

Depends if he's as inspiring as the current incumbent.

This ad tells me that everyone in Leeds is fxking miserable.

Couldn't really give a shit about supposed unrest unless it's obviously affecting results. And it's way too early to tell. If we go on a good run of results who gives a shit if there are unhappy players? Equally if everyone is happy and buzzing but we can't pick up a point then again, who gives a shit about how the players feel about Cooper? There's been successful managers where they haven't been liked by their players as well as nice guys that everyone likes but don't achieve results. I'm not really convinced a manager consulting his players about the tactics is a bad thing. But it's all contextual, if he does that and we're crap, it looks bad. If he does it and we win games, it looks good. But given the way we played last season and the way we're setting up this year it's difficult to see how he'd be taking on board the opinions of players on the tactical front given it's pretty far removed from last seasons displays. But maybe the ones he consults don't want to play the Enzo way. Said it in the relevant thread, he's got 4 games for me. I don't think that's time for unrest to derail anything.
-
Yeah, but I think the reason the OP specifically chose the next 4 is because there's another break after those 4, so do the next 4 results determine Cooper going/staying given the run after the 2 week break before playing some massive games. If the next 4 are a shit show it makes sense to cut ties with a 2 week break where a new guy can at least have some time before he's going to have to battle through those potential 6 pointers. So the next 4 should be crucial to Cooper at least.

Reckon a Turkish team grabs him.

It's in the rules for Prem to Prem loans with 1 year remaining. It had to be done. -

If that's the case it'd be interesting to see what Palace would price him at. File under "Problems you'd like to have for next season". -
Here's a weird idea then, play Fatawu as the high up attacking fullback. Buo as the winger.

Transfermarkts ever reliable market value says €10mill.
-
If he can be got for a decent wage our end then there's enough upside to bringing him in.
-
Except of course, we can't sell him.

Define "Pretty regularly". He didn't feature for Liverpool at all in 2024. Last season he was officially injured for 37 games for Liverpool. The season before whilst only officially being injured for 3 games, he was out of the squad for a further 9 games surrounding his calf injury. He hasn't played any finals nor any big European games in that time aside from a 5-2 loss to Real in the round of 16 in the CL. By contrast Bertrand was officially injured for a total of 4 games in his final 2 seasons at Saints before making the biggest move of his career.
-
Ryan Bertrand played far more before joining us on a free, and that move has been subsequently panned by all and sundry because he got an injury that pretty much kept him out for his entire contract, but we weren't signing a particularly injury risky player at the time. Yet people are ok with going for someone with a massively worse fitness record, who as said, has been injured more than he's been available, who has not played a competitive match in 2024 thanks to a cruciate injury. He's also a year older than Bertrand was. Do people just want him so we've got a new sicknote to moan about?

I wouldn't. Unless you're a practising surgeon, then fair enough.
