He's got to show a hell of a lot more if he wants to get in the side. His preferred position/s has/ve depth to them. It's not enough to be tidy and risk averse. People can say the players around him aren't helping, but then he has the opportunity to stand out more. If he's playing on the wing, he's going top have to start beating players. If he's playing a 10 he's going to have to start creating. He's got to show something. And right now, he's not. There were a lot of poor performances tonight, which is why just doing one or 2 positive things could really have stood out. But he was pretty much anonymous. And with the League cup now gone, that's even fewer opportunities to impress. If he's looking at being 3rd choice in his favoured role then he should go for a loan somewhere he can play regularly.
