Back in training and aiming to be available for next tranche of CC games starting end of June. Scriven out with hamstring.

Agree! Great effort with the bat. And we are still in third place! Our lower order batting has been particularly impressive. Just look at how Durham capitulated today. Their last five contributed just 19!

According to Cricket Archive, Leicestershire played 16 first class (15 of them County Championship) matches at the Brush ground between 1953 and 1965. The last started on 19th June 1965 against Middlesex which Leicestershire won by ten wickets. See also https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brush_Ground

There’s bound to be injuries at some point so an opportunity is never far away. It’s still a small squad.

Looking around Trent Bridge this morning on my tv ahead of the England v Ireland game. We had a much bigger crowd for our cup final last week! What a day that was. Still buzzing.

A different story this afternoon. He’s left his wicket finger in the officials changing room!

Tom Haines and Jack Carson have been made unavailable for selection by Head Coach Paul Farbrace due to their conduct in the previous game. Ari Karvelas is also unavailable until an investigation into an incident in the Leicestershire game has been concluded

Puts us back in third place!

Just reliving yesterday and watching the recorded Sky coverage at home. We are 20-4 and Butcher says: “Valuable piece of real estate at Grace Road”! I’m speechless.

Imagine if he turns it down ? There might be some alternative offers on the table now!!

Mulder available if he is over his illness.
-
Yes. But not until we are ready to compete at that level.

This game is as good as lost. We now need to focus on Saturday’s Final and the sooner we can get the boys back home to prepare for it the better. I hope the match is over today so they can get an extra days rest. We appear already to have lost Salisbury to injury and we don’t know if Mulder will recover from his illness in time. We can’t afford to lose anyone else. In my view we need to minimise risk of further injury today by relying predominantly on spin and part time bowlers from this point on and getting on the bus as quickly as possible. Hampshire haven’t played this week ! Big advantage. But we can still win if we can restore the fantastic team mindset that prevailed throughout August.

Quite right. Life in Division One would be miserable. We’re just not ready. Let’s focus on building and preparing a squad for the future. It’s already been a memorable season for all the right reasons and we are going in the right direction.

Hampshire have made it clear that Currie is strictly on loan for three Championship games only.
