Holland (loan) fit; Green still very young and inexperienced; Hull ditto; Wright still not quite up to speed yet following a long absence and has recently picked up a niggle; Walker fit I think; Salisbury injured short term; Scriven fit after recent injury; Currie (loan) fit I think; Ahmed who knows!! ; Trevaskis fit after recent injury; Mike injured. Taking Somerset Green on loan makes sense in the face of five fourth-day games in five weeks, especially if he is just twiddling his thumbs at Taunton. And you’ve overlooked Sam Woods - also very young and inexperienced.

Alfonso has gone on record saying that the Club’s philosophy is to keep a small permanent playing squad and rely on loan players to fill in the gaps caused by injuries and other absences. The Green loan is consistent with that.

I don’t like what I am reading here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c5y8qwyk8dwo

This drives me mad! There is nothing about either of the One Day Cup semi finals on the BbC website Cricket home page. It’s all about the Hundred, Hundred, Hundred. You have to search via the Counties page to find reference to today’s game. And in the middle of the text they refer to the “downgrading” of the tournament since 2019. I thought the BBC were supposed to be impartial!?? Do you think that their obsession with the Hundred have anything to do with their sponsorship of it? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c98592p3gl7o

That was another super game of cricket. Overall we’ve had a wonderful tournament and I’ve enjoyed almost every moment. Hugely proud of the boys for their tenacity against top teams and players. The County of Leicestershire can once again speak proudly of its Cricket Club. Thomas and Taylor take much of the credit for that; they have inspired belief and confidence in the players. Their performances, both collectively and individually, have given us a wonderful summer of cricket and can hold their heads high. Onwards! I would love to have been a fly on the wall on Friday when CEO Jarvis met ECB chief Richard Gould at Grace Road. I gather that there was a bit of ear bending going on! Gould has a responsibility to fight for every cricket club. Whether it be a local village team, Premier League side, “Minor” or First Class Club, he should be doing everything in his power to support them and ensure that they thrive. I am sure that Sean was fighting our corner.

Excellent livestream from Taunton. Great pictures, good camera angles and continuity, and not a single blip in the coverage. And all for free!!
-
No squad announcement yet. I suspect that negotiations about Ian Holland are ongoing.
-
Thanks. That’s really Annoying. It was rubbish on Sunday. Anyone managed to chrome cast to a television? I find it just crashes before getting started.
-
Anyone know if this will be streamed free on YouTube or will be pay to view like last Sunday?
-
Probably true but recent events seem to suggest that we like to do it the hard way!
-
The other thing that strikes me is how difficult is it for the club to find hotel rooms for the players and support staff at such short notice for the away games in the middle of August. The semi final - if we should be so lucky - is in Taunton, a busy overnight stopover for holiday makers travelling to the South West.
-
Yep. Completely agree with all that. They just don’t care about this tournament.
-
These dates have been in the ECB calendar since the start of the season. It’s not a surprise. Qualifying might be to some but I diarised it in February!
-
I stand corrected!

Home to Worcestershire on Friday

Brilliant win. Fantastic work on the field but the team dealing with the live stream should be sacked. It’s appalling. A real backward step. Ruined the day for me. Go back to YouTube. It was much better and is available on web browsers everywhere. Far greater flexibility and reliability even though it is far from perfect. You can not charge people for this rubbish. Take a look at the presentation from Essex at last week’s game. Excellent picture quality, good camera angles and close ups, good mixing and continuity. Much more professional. And it’s free!
-
271. An excellent turnaround from a seemingly impossible position. Now let’s make it count!
-
Spent 45 minutes trying to work out how to log on to this stream. But it seems you can’t get it on Smart Tv. Have to watch it via a phone or iPad. That’s a non starter for me. I want to relax in front of the telly, not struggle with a small screen and tinny sound all day. But then I saw the score! I’m going out!

Josh Hull called up to England Lions v Sri Lanka 14-17 August. His first class figures this year are 1-232 off 45 overs!
-
Season long loan but I think he will be invited to stay. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c0kkglrzynko.amp

Great win today but we have to win both our remaining games to have a good chance of a quarter final place.
-
This is disgraceful. Their deliberate fielding of a weakened side is not in the spirit of the game at best and probably constitutes match fixing. It certainly places Leicestershire and others at a disadvantage in the table by virtue of wrecking their own net run rate to the benefit of Gloucestershire above the teams around them on the table.
-
Cheer up. We’re level on 6 points with Notts and Yorkshire and only net run rate separates 3rd, 4th and 5th places. Everything to play for. OK, so we had a bad day at the office. It happens! Onwards and upwards!
-
But who would he replace? All the batters did well in the first game and all failed in the second.
-
Whatever you say it’s a huge improvement on last year. Progress.
