  1. Salisbury can bat! Normally when the chips are down. 1) Durham v Derbyshire 2018 when he got 25 off 147 balls in a 99 run 9th wicket stand while his partner hit a ton. 2) Durham v Essex 2021, scored 44 in a 94 run 9th wicket partnership, 3) Durham v Middlesex 2022: scored 45 coming in at no 5 while wickets tumbled around him including Stokes, Borthwick, Eckersley. Came in as night watchman at the end of the day and was still there at lunch the following day.
  2. Don’t expect any of them for Friday.
  3. Worcestershire have published this helpful summary of the options facing county cricket. https://wccc.co.uk/shaping-the-future-of-county-cricket-together/
  4. And after almost two whole days in the dirt under a scorching sun it’s unsurprising that they’ve struggled this evening. I haven’t even ventured outdoors today! We’ve probably lost this one but we still have the advantage thanks to a fantastic start to the season. The injuries are a worry though.
  5. I’ll rephrase the question. Dukes or Kookaburra?
  6. Fantastic report on yesterday’s play at Grace Road from George Dobell. And his view on the Kookaburra ball: “It may even be the worst thing to happen to bowlers since bats were invented.” https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/county-cricket-premium/miscarriage_justice_schedule_revamp_keeps_leicestershire_out_top_flight.html?utm_campaign=1794050_29%2F06%2F25 Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=The Cricketer&dm_i=7T5X,12GAQ,3ELK2Y,2SM5D,1
  7. Roman Walker you beauty!!
  8. I wonder if a further dip into the loan market might be on the cards? Goldsworthy hasn’t played in the CC for Somerset yet this season.
  9. I think you’re over reacting but it is certainly a blow. With the Kookaburra ball there is every chance of a draw on this one but there’s still a long way to go in the season.

  11. Either sick or injured
  12. I think Louis has got everything right except bowling Mike for the 19th. But he got away with it! Great performance from the lads.,
  13. Mike bowling some absolute rubbish here.
  14. Harry Swindells showing how to be a great club man today having taken off his wicket keeping gloves and helmet to bowl five overs and take 1-35!
  15. Judging by the number of wickets that have fallen in this game I would say it’s a kookaburra. Four wickets in two days/190 overs! You’ve got to feel for the bowlers, especially in this heat. I hope we fans haven’t got to contend with this tedium for the next four Championship games. Good to see we are fighting back though. Harry on 99* and has been on the field wearing an helmet either batting or keeping for two solid days now!
  16. Clearly, the sun has been messing with your head!
  17. I wonder what ball they are playing with? I know that the next four rounds of CC will be using the Kookaburra.
  18. Worth noting that, according to George Dobell, retaining fourteen games in two divisions as per existing schedule is still on the table. It’s the only one for me but I am not hopeful.
  19. Much better than it was before today. No disgrace whatsoever.
  20. The video of the Worcester game is no longer available on YouTube. It says “video blocked by SME on copyright grounds”. Not come across this before! It’s a shame because I couldn’t watch it live. Any ideas?
  21. Richard Rae is right up there for me.
  22. Jane Powell. President of Yorkshire County Cricket Club! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Powell_(cricketer)
  23. So even the Lancashire spin doctors couldn’t work their way out of that one! Brilliant work from the lads including the guys up front. They all have their roles and executed them perfectly. Top drawer. Alfonso is a genius.
