I just think for those wanting to be near the away fans, relocate to P block and start up a section there. No one knows if and when the expansion is coming so no point planning it around that.

Do you think P block will eventually become the new L1? Maybe for those fans that want to be near the away, that could be an option and start a new group there.

I think there’s two type of fans. One side want a traditional spontaneous atmosphere and one want 90 minutes of solid backing for the team. I don’t think either is right or wrong. If you have fans near the away fans, that’ll probably be your more traditional lot which is what L1 is meant to be. Those that want the euro style will go to the section. The problem is neither of the sections are big enough. But there is also a distinct lack of effort among the fanbase as a whole. Ideally you would have a Southampton style (I know they’ve changed it now) approach where you have two groups of support boxing in the away fans and then a big section in the Kop. The club would hate that though unfortunately

Don’t disagree. I personally think a lot of people have stayed in there from before the section was there and that’s a big issue.

Some interesting points here and can completely I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t think moving the section is going to happen. I’ve spoken with a couple of the UFS boys about this and it’s not something that I think is realistic. I think the idea is to grow the section over time where it is and then hopefully safe standing is implemented in this part. The difficulty of course is growing the section which the club are completely reluctant to do. The European style isn’t for me either personally but it’s better than no noise I guess. Agree the fanbase lacks passion and it is sad to see that we don’t really compare to some of the clubs you mention there of similar size to us. I think ultimately it’s boils down to effort and that word passion again. If enough people genuinely care about making noise, they will do. The stadium move was poorly handled (shock horror) and that didn’t help. I think the most likely way the atmosphere at home improves is the section expands and hopefully you get better people in there.

I think it’s the issue with safe standing which isn’t likely to go into the east stand.

I don’t get it either. So many people are just not invested at all. Even in the section, people just on their phones, not watching be game. Not like it’s a cheap hobby either, it’s bizarre.
