  1. I doubt he would be as cheap as the press/experts are making out as there is an option for another year on his contract.
  2. He has improved an awful lot since the start of last season and we have now got used to him wandering round with the ball. He is very calm when he has the ball, so calm we nearly have heart attacks. Like with the nutmeg at the end of the video. He is a very good shot stopper as well. His weakness, surprisingly for his size, is high balls. He doesn't claim them very well when he is being bullied, which Sheff Utd did to him in the second half at their place. He is improving though and I think he will be a top goalkeeper. Maybe Kompany thinks he won't be good enough for the Premier League. I think he has done enough to earn the start but it looks like Kompany doesn't.
  3. People keep asking about Muric.
  4. The obligatory youtube video.
  5. People don't listen when they are told that players were signed by selling your better ones and you don't receive parachute payments if you go back up. The 'buying the league' and 'parachute payments not fair' were mentioned all last season by other teams fans about Burnley. They don't seem to realise that after a few years in the premier you will probably have decent players to sell and it has nothing to do with parachute payments. Burnley initially went up, second to you, after spending about £450k on Barnes and were favourites to go down that season. If Luton come down they will get the same treatment next year even though it has cost them hardly anything to go up in the first place. Most of the teams in the Championship have come down from the Premier but have messed it up. You have to keep laughing at them when they moan.
  6. You can only watch certain matches in England on ifollow. The Sat ones aren't allowed and i'm not positive but I think ones shown on Sky. You can watch them abroad so you need a VPN if you are in England. I watched all of Burnley's that I didn't go to as they are all streamed. I think it was £10 to watch them through the club. They also show a few on the red button on Sky.
  7. Us Burnley fans were feeling like this last year. How many players will we lose, who will be manager and how on earth will we sign enough players. Plus the money that was supposedly due for the loan. We did though, pretty much, have a manager in place quickly and Kompany, although he hadn't signed, was still involved in who he wanted. You need to get a manager in first, unless you keep the one you have, or you will be signing players for one style of play and will then have to find a manager to fit. We struggled to keep up with the signings as they were coming thick and fast but we got there.
  8. I wouldn't give up hope yet if I were you lot. I am not sure Everton will get the win against Bournemouth. Bournemouth are a weird team who seem to lose two or three and then win a couple so there is every chance they can win and they have won 3 of the last 6 away games. It won't be easy to beat West Ham but it sure as hell can be done as they have only won 3 and drawn 3 away from home and only scored 15 goals.
  9. No VAR but I can tell you, from this season's experience, that the refs are diabolical.
  10. People think Kompany didn't do well in Belgium but it is the opposite. He took over a car crash of a club with no money, signed young players and got them to 3rd in the league where they were the highest scorers and had the best defence. Since he has left they have gone down to 12th and the manager that took over from him was sacked. He struggled at the start when he was player manager so stepped down for a while until he retired from playing.
