Ok, I disagree. Have watched all their games and he’s been terrific in a struggling team with a very shaky defense. The stats tell the same story. Agree with this. No way we’ll sell him in January even if he wanted to go. Also, he’d only lower his own value by complaining enough to be benched until summer - and he really doesn’t seem like the type to do that either. Quite the opposite.

Onana made a weird mistake in their last game, but he has been one of the best keepers in the league this season. Seems like you only want to remember his performances last season, but he’s been really good since summer. Again, I’m not so sure Maresca will come for Mads since he already has Jörgensen. He has performed really well when given the chance and I suspect the only reason Sanchez is still in goal is to not put pressure on a 22 yo keeper new to the league. If he keeps making big mistakes, Maresca might be forced to let Jörgensen start in the league soon and if not, he’ll probably be no. 1 next season.

Tbh I think Ederson has always been a bit hyped. He’s never been as good a shot stopper as the very best and the new top keepers are all adept with their feet. He’s also declined a bit. I’d take Onana and Raya over him any day. I think Mads is quickly climbing up the ladder to reach the highest level.

Okoli can work with a solid leader beside him, but Faes… well, let’s just say he’s gone as Faes he can go. Probably too far.

We really should, but benching a legend is hard. I can understand why the new manager needs to be absolutely sure that Mads has surpassed Schmeichel - and that he doesn’t lose too much in terms of relations on and off the field. It might be difficult to keep him if big offers from the top clubs come in. But seeing that we should never put anyone in goal who’s not Danish Chelsea could give us Jörgensen and a shitload of money for him - wouldn’t be too bad, he’s two years younger than Hermansen and have already been Villarreal’s no. 1 for a season.

He strikes me as a talented footballer offensively and a bit immature defensively. Sometimes he seems a bit too eager to win the ball quickly and makes it too easy for the forward to get around him. I do think he’ll improve quite a bit though. His forward runs and passes today were so good.

Well, a golden generation from a population of 11 mio. doesn’t mean that they can muster two or three world class players in every position. But they did have a golden starting 11 a few years ago. It’s a shame with Faes. If he just recognized his own limitations he’d be an asset for us, I think.

Yes, he’s aggressive and yes, people notice his mistakes and not his contributions. Problem is that his teammates never know what he’ll do. They’ll expect at least one big mistake every game, but don’t know when it will come. That bring uncertainty. Add to that his attitude and there’s no other conclusion than he has to go.

VK unfortunately not great vs neither Spain nor Serbia. Vestergaard predictably like a fish out of water vs Spain and very much like a fish IN water vs Serbia.

He played for the inferior team vs Spain Saturday and were an excellent leader. Don’t get the need to make him seem worse than he is.

It’s nice our defense is working now and we have competent options on the bench. I’ll just point out that the way Vesty handled himself, his not too experienced colleagues and Spain’s attack was close to world class.

Jannik solid as a rock in a Denmark defense severely hampered by injuries. Had to play a RB as CB. I understand the need for speed in some games but in a low block Jannik is a very good player. VK faced Yamal and lost him on one occasion, but he played well defensively otherwise.

Well, I think he’s learned a lot at Bologna so we might very well have a better player now than we would had he stayed. Italy is a great school for defenders still

No moans about him in here for a month. Good sign I guess.

There’s more to goalkeeping than what meets the eye. Organizing the defense, clear communication, attitude - things like that. KS is probably a bit underrated by some in that regard.
