Not having this guy at all personally. I just never feel safe with him in goal. I’m absolutely sure that he doesn’t save that 1 on 1 chance as begovic did.
-
Wonder if we can’t because of PSR. My worry is who would actually want to come here now? I want him gone, but our next appointment would be bargain bucket. I doubt we would even attract Gary O’Neil now.
-
El sackico? Last game before international break and there manager is performing woefully too.
-
I wouldn’t mind seeing him on the left wing and just running down the touch line and getting some balls in with his left foot. Lloyd dyer style. He’s too left footed to be playing on the right in my opinion. Everyone knows what he’s going to do as he can’t use his right foot
-
He used to be a decent player to be honest, but his legs have completely gone. League 1 is probably his level now.
-
The board won’t like that performance. Remember coopers last game was that Chelsea game where we had very little possession and sat back. I reckon he’ll be gone tomorrow
-
Why do all the players look so unfit? What exactly were they doing in pre season. I mean they looked absolutely miles off the fitness levels of the Boro players at the end there.
-
Some goal by Van De Ven. To do that is much more difficult than to hit a screamer.
-
Of course. They are the bloody owners who paid a million quid for him from a non league side when no one else would
-
And you think they will stay there forever? Or as I suggested by cycles, in the next 2 or 3 years they will be in decline.
-
Mate we finished 12th and then 9th the seasons after winning the league when he was alive… we then finished 9th, 5th and 5th when he wasn’t alive and won an FA cup. nothing lasts forever, it is cycles…. we will be back one day.
-
When they have paid him Millions and millions of pounds ? Jeeze. I’ve heard it all now.
-
The title win has really clouded a lot of people’s memories. The year before that we finished 14th and the year before that we were in the championship (for many years) We’ve had a great 10 years or so. We just need to get rid of the high earning average players (a lot of them are gone end of the season) and rebuild again. This season is a write off, it’s not the end of the world if we don’t go up. Leeds didn’t go up first year, nor did Aston Villa when they got relegated a while back.

Should we do away with the offside rule?

Nah that is true. It’s Wengers idea at FIFA. Pretty sure it has been trialled. -
He was a leader, a captain, an organiser, always gave everything. We have just never replaced him. Any successful teams always have someone at the back who organises and is committed. Our two most successful teams in recent history had Matt Elliott/ Steve Walsh and Wes Morgan and Huth. And we had a very good team with Harry Maguire at the back. Next season we literally need a brand new defence. Miss Wessy Morgan though
-
But I would say that these tactics that Cifuentes employs are atrocious. we are always so open at the back and extremely easy to counter. Teams are watching our games back before playing us and licking there lips. Our midfield is wide open, the defence is too high and our attacking is poor. We should have drew against Sheffield Wednesday, lost to Charlton, were lucky to beat Swansea. i would genuinely say that if we had lost every game so far this season then we couldn’t exactly say any of the results would be unjust.

I wanted Gary O’Neil but I don’t even think he would want to come here now. We’ve had it a lot recently with managers seemingly in the door and then change there mind at the last minute. Jesse Marsch was another.
-
Personally I don’t think he will make it as a premier league player. He’s way too reliant on his left foot, his crosses are generally pretty poor and his all round play is not good enough. I just simply do not get the hype around him - he scores a worldie every now and then but in the championship you need more than this. Wish we managed to sign Murphy now from Portsmouth.

I’ve just been looking at his injury record. metatarsal fracture in May 2021, which required surgery on a broken bone in his foot. Then had pelvic/groin injury/inflammation that required surgery in 2022. Then when he returned after a lengthy lay off, he got a hairline heel fracture which included a deep laceration and also secondary damage on the bone. Dont think he has ever been the same player since. He was considered an extremely promising player before this and was a regular in the premier league for Spurs. he really is done.
