  1. Funnily enough it's exactly these fans in meltdown who are calling out the players for a lack of mental strength and for bottling it. Pots and kettles and all that....
  2. Again, if you'd follow the whole discussion this was a debate on a very specific element of tonight's performance, not about the result.
  3. Sure, never suggested anything but that being the case - the discussion was about our performance 2nd half rather than the result. And even then, i didn't think we were crap in the last 10 minutes. I think we might have come back from the first goal, or at least held on for a draw, if we hadn't conceded such a ridiculous second. after that it was always going to be a struggle. And the 3rd (again ridiculous) goal kind of made the last ten minutes look a lot worse than it really was.
  4. Poor execution and bottling it are not in any way shape or form the same thing. I get that you're upset but whining and melodramatic histrionics aren't going to change anything. You seem to be incapable of dealing with reality - but i admire your persistence in utter negativity to get you through it
  5. But players lose the ball all the time, there were numerous opportunities to tackle the guy or force him backwards, in the end he's desperate and just whacks it, it probably isn't even going in until it hits hamza, and then still not going int until it hits faes. The final goal also took a massive deflection off a shot not on target, does that mean we should be blaming vestergaard for giving away the foul? Of course, the actions of these players create situations, but unless it's a genuine error that's led to the goal we need to quit with the blame culture. If blaming people for events makes you happy then you go for it - but posting that kind of BS on here will be shot down time and again.
  6. Not only that but we still looked in total control for some time after the misses, and the most likely looking team to score - leeds looked lost. Unfortunately we got sucker punched far too late for us to really regain the momentum that we lost.
  7. But that's the thing, it isn't that often - the games we've lost have generally been down to poor finishing (tonight that's hurt us again) - but tonight genuinely does feel like what ever we did, it wasn't meant to be. I think from the moment ricardo gets booked i'm thinking, something's going to føkk us over tonight.
  8. Yeah, i've only seen the one replay but his body shape seems to hint that he was actually trying to pass it back across goal - either way, unacceptable.
  9. I've no idea what you mean - i'm just saying it's wrong to sum up the 2nd half by what happened in the last 10 minutes. The last 10 minutes shouldn't take away (from a performance perspective, such was the initial observation) how well we played in the 2nd half.
  10. The way we played for 80 minutes suggests that the boro loss galvanised the team. Even after the two bad misses we still looked totally in control and the more likely to score. You can't legislate for the manner of the goals conceded, it wasn't about bottling it or being soft, it was just unfortunate. I'd expect that if the reaction to Boro was focus and playing our best football, then the reaction to this will be anger and maybe a bit more bite.
  11. It deflected off two players!!! Fatawu could have gift wrapped the ball for him, but he couldn't have stopped the ball travelling in three different directions. Jesus, step away from you scapegoating and just accept it was an incredibly fortuitous goal.
  12. I think it's the absurdly bad disallowed goal and the two deflections that mean we can put this down to bad luck. 'Luck' has given leeds a three goal swing tonight. But, of course, better mentality in front of goal and luck maybe doesn't come into it.
  13. No, we lost the last ten minutes 3-0, for 80 minutes we were ahead, and really should have been comfortably ahead. Leeds didn't even have a shot on target til the 67th minute. Say what you like about those last 10 minutes, but the first 35 of that 2nd half, Leeds were hanging on for dear life and had no clue what to do in possession. We were the better team for 80 minutes, and then we were the unluckiest team for 10 minutes.
  14. I'm sorry but are you trying to blame Fatawu for a goal that deflected off two defenders? Inexplicable logic.
  15. Typical comment in post match thread: 1. List the following actual reasons why we lost: missed chances, disallowed goal, poor officiating, lucky deflections. 2. Then insist that the real reason we lost was: a) poor substitutions, b) bottling it or c) both of these. This wasn't a bottle job we were fighting til the end, we just got beaten by some undefendable goals. And the substitutions were spot on daka and mavi were both knackered and starting to make bad passes (not to mention had blown their lines in front of goal). Everyone's disappointed but, other than the poor finishing, we did everything in our power to win that game, and were hugely unlucky not to get even a point let alone lose by two goals.
  16. Not sure what's more frustrating - the disallowed goal or the fact that even without that we should still have been three nil up, or once again a ridiculous piece of luck costing us points. Or maybe just Leeds celebrating like they've won the league - which no doubt their fans now believe they have as good as done.
  17. Opta prediction: NB: The predictions are calculated for a team’s remaining fixtures based on the strength of the respective sides and simulating each of those games thousands of times to calculate an average of their forecasted finishes.
  18. Trouble is, even back then we were too honest as a club. We stuck to the salary cap rules enforced on teams coming up to the PL, rather than doing a forest and gambling on future success.
  19. No. that didn't pass through wigston. Probably the branch line to Rugby. here: https://www.google.no/maps/@52.5801699,-1.1296315,3a,75y,11.49h,95.52t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sPbLVi9Nx0aXBPm_VtRzDqw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DPbLVi9Nx0aXBPm_VtRzDqw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D125.34747%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu
  20. No, but oddly enough the other day i remembered that we didn't have bubble bath but washing up liquid.
  21. I don't think it's necessary to allocate a level of difficulty, but really to give some perspective of the position of the opponents. Thanks for doing it. Looking at it - there's a reasonable argument to say we have the easiest last two games, given that preston and blackburn aren't likely to have much to play for - everyone else will be playing teams that may still be involved in relegation or the playoffs. Mind you, as you say, this can change dramatically every week.
  22. Cool. I picked up a 2nd hand copy in Hinckley (of all places). It's really interesting, though it does meander wildly at times; quite, i would say ahead of it's time -
  23. Of course, recent rule changes have thankfully restricted the use and propensity of helmet contact.
  24. You can see on his face after goals and wins how much he's enjoying his time now. He's like a big kid - it's great to see. A lot of people on this forum laughed or cried at his signing by us, but he's been sensational, undroppable...
  25. You can actually go even further than that and say that the only time we've lost games is when we've had trouble with shooting accuracy: Hull - 21 shots, 1 on target Leeds - 10 - 1 Boro - 12- 4 Cov - 8 - 4 (bit of course totally different reason for losing that one. Boro - 24 - 2 In a sense, no one has really 'beaten' us, we've only really beaten ourselves.
