I don't think it was his defending that was his weakest attribute today - he made a fantastic double block at one point - it was his sloppy short passing. And whilst he does look a bit slow, i don't think he's quite as bad as people make out. As has been said, he's not played for months, i thought he did just fine.
-
Yeah, but at the start of the season everyone's defending was a bit chaotic - if you look for errors you can find them for any player. Remember that he's 20 years old, only 6 months older than Nelson.

i don't think it's a case of dismissing it - merely taking anything in the press about transfers and valuations with a pinch of salt. I'm tired of hearing things like 'leicester have set a value of N on player X' and then quoting some random figure. The amount of times you read of bids being made and then nothing ever happening, it's just click bait - if every 'offer' that was reported was real, we'd have bought and sold twenty players every season! We've no idea what offers the club received or what we expected - you should know better than to get caught up in this sort of baseless speculation.

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

Maybe just playing it cool because he knows he'll be in the first team next year! -
Are we not allowed to have players we like and dislike nowadays? Darting casuals! - what an arrogant and pretentious thing to say. I suppose it's also wrong of me to find wayne mardle's commentary dreadful, then? Since i first saw him i've disliked watching him - i don't like the way he throws, i don't like his nickname, i don't like his attitude in interviews - i can't think of one redeeming thing about him - he is the tottenham hotspurs of darts (except with trophies)
-
I think he wanted me to do a specific type of aerobic exercise where the pulse should be in a certain range.
-
According to the daily mail we don't know what went on with that last year, it's not like we balked on prices for the other players we sold. If the offer came (at all) before we signed mads, then Iversen may well have still been considered our number 1 at the time?
-
Listening to the presser it sounded like enzo was on strict instructions to play down everything and say as little as possible - given our position the club must know that other clubs are already going to add a premium on any possible sales, we don't need to make it any worse by appearing to be ready to spend freely.
-
Hadn't thought of that option. Not sure if i need to go that deep, i'm about to embark on a programme to get into some kind of shape after years of neglect and with an auto-immune disease, so i'm a little nervous, my osteopath recommended i use something.

It wasn't really a spanking - the ravens just won the turnover battle (and a couple of them were more by luck than judgement), in terms of yardage the niners were superior across the board. And fwiw, that was not the normal level they play at, in fact one of their worst performances. Lot of respect for the ravens, but if it comes to a SB - expect to see a very different niners performance. The argument for Jackson as MVP is only valid if you argue that the ravens are nothing without him?
-
Absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be - you don't set a single season franchise passing record without being a potential MVP winner.
-
Totally agree, he's been way off form, certainly lacking the sort of consistency needed for this - can't believe they couldn't find more than one non-uk entrant. And the thought of having to watch Humphries every week is dreadful, but i guess he has to be there.
-
Any gym/techy people who can recommend a decent watch/device for measuring your pulse whilst exercising?
-
Such is the sport that any quote about 'having to sell' is frankly meaningless. Even if it was true at the time, even if it wasn't just a general reference to a wider sense of 'moving players on', it's the sort of position that can change in the bat of an eyelid. And even if it's true and remains so, it doesn't rule out bringing in a replacement on loan.
-
Given he's out of contract in the summer, would it not be worth cutting him from the squad to free up a place for someone who is going to be involved in more than just afew games at the end when, hopefully, we'll already be up?
-
Give him a few games and yunus could be the answer - totally different player to ndidi, but far more creative and i think that's what we need in this 2nd half of the season.

Daniel Iversen loaned to Stoke City
Lillehamring replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
probably no one simple answer to this - but i'd suspect in Iversen's case it's always going to be hard to sell a player with PL level experience, the expectations from the player are probably to continue at that level, the value of the player probably reflects that. If we're seen to be selling players undervalue it weakens our bargaining position on all other deals. Also, i suspect we're no worse than any other club - we just never read about such instances elsewhere, -
Sure - the observation was made purely based on us actually receiving said payments. That it's not even guaranteed makes it even less of a factor than people are making it out to be (though it is undoubtedly good to have)
-
but in our case we're not dominating the league exclusively because of the parachute payments - yes, they were helpful financially, but, if i'm not mistaken, the money has all gone on paying the interest on the loans. Any signings have been as a result of the sale of our best players, not the parachute payments, I know that is over simplifying things, but to right off what we're achieving as merely the result of parachute payments wouldn't be entirely fair; and year in, year out, parachute payments are no guarantee of a successful first season in the EFC - so it's a bit of a weak complaint if that's the best they've got.
-
There was a suggestion on here that we were planning to buy him during the last window but it wouldn't have been doable in time (or some such issue) so it was agreed we'd just loan him for now - he's clearly an enzo player.
-
Well, again, i haven't seen enough to criticise him in that respect - it's not like he'd had a massive pre-season. Besides - vestergaard isn't quick and it's not a problem. Pace isn't everything these days, and even players with pace still get caught out.
-
Ricardo is light years ahead of justin for that inverted role, even hamza is ahead of him. otherwise, yes.
-
I think it will come down to Doyle/vestergaard and either faes or justin. Justin wasn't good enough on the left and had a couple of really poor games - after which maresca started playing faes on the left. He has said all along that he wants a left footed player on the left and justin never really looked comfortable there. He does however look much better playing on the right and with faes having some sloppy moments, i think that's going to be an interesting battle.
