  1. um.... Yes you can.
  2. That money went on the free beer.
  3. Um, because most of them haven't got the faintest clue?
  4. Or, alternately, all have everything to play for so might be nervous, or more focussed on not losing rather than actually trying to win (which tends to be good for us).
  5. but the goals and points were referring to his coaching pedigree, can't imagine assists would be that significant compared to how many points his teams have won?
  6. This has to be the dumbest thing i've read - the idea that we'd 'swap' KDH - surely the only reason why we'd let him go is to boost our income, a swap deal wouldn't make any difference to the PSR, would it? https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/an-unbelievable-talent-carlton-palmer-makes-eddie-nketiah/
  7. Birmingham, without question, sat back.
  8. To be fair, faes has probably played that ball to mads hundreds of times this season, it should never have resulted in a goal. I can only imagine that mads just didn't see the attacker until he was already committed to kicking it - otherwise i think he'd have just played the simple ball to doyle, or turned it back away from spearing - no other reason why he would have made the decision he made.
  9. And more often than not those off days come when we're trying to force the issue and rushing and panicking - the result being bad decision making, poor execution and errors leading to counter attacks.
  10. Well, that's not how i remember it, felt to me like we totally dominated and were camped out on the edge of their box, birmingham were defending frantically at times. It feels like people can't understand that when you have 75+% of the ball (as we had for the last 20 minutes) that you can't play a fast direct type of football, all you can do is to stay patient and focussed and keep creating, and that's exactly what we did. As for lethargic, i'd like to see you go up to that squad of players, face to face, add accuse them of being lethargic. It's been a long season with a lot of games, and they're fighting every minute, very easy for fans to sit there and expect 100% for 90+ minutes every 3 or 4 days. The lack of respect from some fans for what enzo has done, and what the players have put into this season, beggars belief.
  11. And it looks like the nice art deco building next to the station is going soon, too,
  12. I think it's pretty obvious - as a coach his teams have gained more points and scored more goals than any other coach's team. All region selection is like being selected for the 'team of the season' within his region. he was selected twice.
  13. I fail to see how anyone could describe that second half 'slow and lacking urgency' we were relentless - 10 shots and 7 on target - what more could you ask for? Whether you like it or not, 'patience' has served us well this season, especially with so many teams parking the bus. As KDH has said, if you aren't patient it becomes a basketball game - and those are the types of games we struggle in.
  14. Worth it just for his food reviews-
  15. He missed a chance to give faes a red - must have forgot which team he was playing for.
  16. I think the officials deserve extra credit for not just missing the blatant pull back on vardy, but following it up with not seeing Ruddy catch the ball reaching an arm's length outside his box.
  17. Just noticed that southampton also dropped points.
  18. can't remember who posted it, but someone here pointed out that daka is great when he's not off-balance, but hopeless when he is - and it's true.
  19. I started doing my collection on discogs but it was taking ages for each disc so i gave up...
  20. There's a good Phil Spector biography i have, called 'Wall of Pain'.
  21. Possibly - i can see the risk involved here, but the other way of looking at it is that if norwich were going to hit us on the break it would be from us giving the ball away, the advantage of playing so advanced (and why we were so good when we were good) is that it gives us a much better chance of winning the ball straight back. the reason we've struggled with quick counters in recent games is because we were giving the ball away from deeper in our own half, rather than from that front 5.
  22. I'm not so sure this is really true - it's a pretty commonly stated opinion that 'you're at your most vulnerable after you've scored', both because it's easier then to lose focus and that the opposition are instantly fired up to respond to having conceded. Going full tilt after scoring seems to be asking for a responding opposition to take advantage of the scoring teams over-confidence. Enzo is generally pragmatic about his approach to the game, it is no surprise to see that after scoring he reinforces this; to me it seems less a case of being complacent and allowing the opposition to get back into the game, and more a standing firm and focused while the opposition get their inevitable response out of their system. It would be interesting to see how many goals we've conceded within say 5-10 minutes of scoring.
