Is it not worrying how far off it our scouting and recruitment system is?

Stolarczyk wasn't fit when he arrived and Iversen isn't good either.
As soon as he's been able to drop Ward he has.
Jakub was fit to play against Wolves. He wasn’t selected.

The more i think about it, the more i think Danny Ward’s contribution to the disaster that followed against Wolves will, in time, be looked at on par with the Wycombe FA Cup result, in terms of the start of a downward spiral for the club that will take years to recover from.

So if that post is clueless, why has no Manager played Iversen, and no one attempted to pay the £5m we wanted for him?
He literally can’t kick a football.
Iversen has proven himself at Championship level. So what if he can’t kick a football, at least he stops it going in the back of the net.

It’s alright keeping the ball out of the net, however If you keep giving the ball back to the opposition, they’ll get more chances.
The most clueless post I’ve read on here this week.
“he’s a good goalkeeper except he can’t kick so that makes him as bad as Ward”. Far too many people put too much weight on goalkeepers distribution. You know what then, why don’t we put Harry Winks in goal, he can’t save anything but he’s got really good distribution!!! lol

It seems a lot are arguing about whether Stolarczyk is fit or not, whilst completely ignoring the fact that Iversen is more than capable, in fact, far more capable than Danny Ward is. I think Iversen certainly saves goals 1 and 3 today and probably gives the second a better go.

Rudkin out, Pearson in

I think it’s clearly obvious that JJ has never recovered to the player he was before his injuries and is showing no signs that he ever will. Lost that pace and agility that made up for a lack of footballing brain. It’s a shame because he seems to have a good temperament and attitude. Sadly, out of his depth at the moment.
-
He’s literally cost the future of the club with his performance today. A perennial 6 pointer and this complete and utter incompetent nob jockey plays. Does the 18s keeper even do any worse? How has nobody else stepped up and said “do not play him”? All the players are quick to step up and hound a manager out but Danny Ward? No.
-
We all said picking Ward today would be a disaster. A game of this magnitude. As good as a six point swing, could be the difference between staying up and relegation. Sack him now. Stands there all clueless with his stupid turtle neck on, listening to Coopers cronies. May as well have put a fan in charge.

Confirms my thoughts. He is clueless. People thought Cooper was bad but Ruud is ten times worse. We’re in serious trouble if he’s still here in February.

Don't think the club had candidate managers/coaches knocking down the door. RvN has got more Premier League exposure than Enzo. S'pose the club could have gone for that Portugueser out of the Saudi league.
We sacked Cooper one game after an international break. We have known for weeks Cooper might have been gone, how were we not doing due diligence on other managerial options rather than a knee jerk reaction to bring in RVN on the back of a 4 game caretaker stint at United.

do we reckon hes the worse keeper we've seen at the club?
who has been given the chance of being number 1?
id say hes the worst i can remember
The six that we had in League One were all considerably better than him too. Then you have Pressman, Douglas, Henderson… yeah I’m still going with them over Ward.
Even Conrad Logan, past and present!

This club is a complete shambles.
Employ a manager, that is the caretaker manager of another club that beats us twice. With little proven track record. No premier league experience. And seemingly no back room staff to bring in and/or lack of due diligence done on the availability or feasibility of his staff.
We can only pray that those three currently below us continue to be as much of a shambles as we are.

Disagree on by some margin. You can take your pick from the following if we are saying 'performance', if we are saying result yes.
Southampton despite the win was dogshit mostly. They threatened be about 3 or 4 up by half time.
Forest could have 5-1
Manchester United in the Cup wasn't far off the same performance as Saturday.
Manchester United in the League was so lifeless and my worst performance of the season.
Brentford was an utter cluster**** of tactics.
We had one shot all game… ONE shot and that was a daisy cutter from 25 yards.
It was comfortably the worst this season, struggling to think of many worse since that 6-1 loss at Portsmouth tbh. Everyone seems to have downplayed it as we have a new manager.

We will find out just how clueless he is if Ward starts over Iversen and Stolarczyk and if competition winner Mcateer starts a 4th consecutive game against Wolves
-
How does Mcateer start, never mind get a full 90. Imagine what those on the bench are thinking watching that cereal packet competition winner play.

12 minutes ago, Mickyblueeyes said:
I dont actually think McAteer is a winger - he was forced into that role last season and has played there this year, but I actually he has far more qualities in the middle of the park than head down and running at a full back.
What qualities would they be? We already have two central midfielders that don’t want the ball and when they do get it pass it backwards. Albeit have far better other qualities than Mcateer.

Ran his socks off - full of energy - gives his all - let’s stick with the positives for today
If any one of us on here played today, they would be the positives too
-
Completely out of his depth. A winger that doesn’t carry the ball forward, doesn’t want the ball, only passes backwards, has no skill or trickery, no attempt to beat a man and on the rare occasion his pace gets him into a dangerous area, his end product is atrocious.
Mavadidi must be bewildered sat on the bench watching him play ahead of him.
I’m struggling to think of a worse player to play for us in the Premier League in the last 10 years. I see no attributes at all to suggest he will improve, running around a lot doesn’t make someone a good footballer.

As far as I’m aware, no.
However, Handscomb is coming back for sure.
