How the umpire has deemed that catch to be taken is beyond me?!
He missed two plumb lbws earlier off Scriven bowling too…

As good as thrown away promotion for the sake of a f***** concert

The discipline of bowling and fielding shown today in finals day alone shows how far apart we are from the top sides.
Michael Finan bowls more wides in one over than you will have seen all day today.
Do you sometimes wonder if we are just spot fixing or match fixing with how diabolical our pace bowling and fielding has been this campaign? 🤣

Agreed. Pretty sure Kimber and Scriven may be out of contract too though whether either has quite done enough to attract other counties I'm not sure outside of Kimber's t20 knocks. Both could be key players and leaders in next year's side the way things are going if they do stay.
I’ve heard Kimber is going too.
I had heard about Ahmed to Lancs too. Offered him a package with family perks that I’m not sure he could ever refuse.

Predictable, when Glam were 90-7 you almost knew we would have problems getting the last few wickets. It seem to happen to frequently . Is it down to fitness levels.
Seems strange selecting only 3 seamers. Of which one is old and another injury prone. Surely not the conditions for Parkinson/Ackermann?
In fact, I was surprised to see Ahmed carrying water bottles too. Good enough to make the England test squad, yet not selected for us, with us choosing a spinner that can’t bat nowhere near as good and is leaving anyway ahead of him!!

Ryan Patel would probably play at most counties all the time, currently very stiff competition. I'd be happy with him coming over.
Our bowling is the main issue, I don't trust any of them to bowl a tight spell. Not one.
Scriven has looked good in all formats when he has played and we missed him in the one day cup last season when he picked up an injury after finally cementing his place again.
Hull is young but has all the qualities to be a real success.
Mulder not bowling due to a back injury but he’s contracted next season too, so hopefully should offer another option.
After that, well, get rid of the lot, drain the swamp. Davis, Finan, Salisbury (of what I’ve seen), Barnes all not good enough.
Roman Walker bizarrely rolled through the India test side last year then never got another sniff. Been out injured but has looked good since his return this last month. Perhaps there could be something there too.

Two county championship games is the only action we are seeing in July.
And the ECB still can’t figure out why county cricket is on its arse. Maybe we need another investigation and report.

Going to be a good day of digging in deep today. Done it successfully a few times already this season in the CC. Seems to be a good track so it’ll be interesting to see if Durham might just declare at the start of play

Surely Walker, Hull and Finnan would of been a better option, at least they would provide variation.
Is Hull injured? Disappeared off the face of the earth since his bowling display away at Yorkshire in the T20.

We have 3 more key players?
Considering one is an England international, one our best batsman this season and another the only one really capable of coming in at 6/7 and giving it a good wack, I’d say yes 3 key players.
That is if reports are true.
On a side note, hearing Burgess from Warwickshire is coming back

Total shambles. Hearing 3 more key players on their way out too.
Claude the Fraud aka Rudkin needs to go.

Total shambles.
Any idea if Swindells was injured? Have we honestly not got any better seamers than Finan the binman and Davis? I think most have covered Lilley already.
Just shocking. We almost got away with it last year after the terrible start with Rutherford misfiring but there cannot be any excuses this year. You don’t mind if they are inept because it’s all that we’ve got, but it’s the team selections, lack of thought in to team balance and overall decision making that really bothers me.

I suppose you’re fine with Scousers singing about Margaret Thatcher being in a coffin, seen as you dislike the Tories.

Yes you are wrong. You are in the minority of our fans that sing it 👍 I bet you’re offended by your own skin colour.

Rude. And you don’t speak for the ‘we’ on here mate.
Speak for yourself, you’re literally the only person pushing this on this forum for the sake of virtue signalling. It’s embarrassing.

Kimber and Hill have definitely improved the batting, Josh Hull looked promising last game, another year of what could of been!
I know Kimber and Hill both had knocks at the start but they were playing for the 2s so surely could have been drafted in sooner. As for the selection of Davis, I have never seen him pull up any trees like Hull did yesterday, how on Earth was he being selected.
Should Ahmed be called up by England, then it would be nice to Steel called in as our 2nd/3rd spin/bat but not sure he will ever play for us again, seems to have made Claude cry.

Agree. There’s an article I’ve just come across that concludes that our fans singing it are ‘just useful idiots to The Tories’. To me, that in itself is enough reason to stop!
You are really boring now. Go back to the Liverpool forum, we’ve had enough of this nonsense, we don’t care 👍

Miles better. Kimber on a mission to prove we were daft for not starting the tournament with him.
Injured I believe at the start…

Hill for Lilley
Kimber for Mulder
Naseem for Davis
Budinger down the order.
those are the changes I’d make.
I’d maybe open with Ahmed or Kimber, tell them to go out and give it a good wack. Put Budinger down to 6/7. As above, if we do bring a 3rd seamer in, you can’t expect many runs from Parky, Naveen, Naseem, Hull/Finan/Davis, which would be my only concern.
Big gap left by Mike.

Lilley dropped. Let’s hope Davis is water boy too.

No it’s not! Remember we have been overachieving, as Rodgers continually kept telling us. And don’t forget we were in League One 13 years ago so therefore we are still overachieving.

Same old mistakes being made. This happened last year too, bad start due to poor team selections and too much poor pace bowling. Tide turned when changes were made and Ackermann started bowling 4 overs too.
It’s as if we haven’t realised our mistakes. Bring Hill in for Budinger who is badly misfiring, Kimber in for Lilley and Scriven in for Davis who can bat 8/9 and can share the remaining 4 overs of the ball with Mulder.
3 out of 4 now too that Welch has been out in the 30s… got a feeling a big score is coming from him. Patel looking good at 3. There are signs there tonight but the damage is done, too much blind faith from the selectors in those that aren’t good enough (Davis and Lilley primarily)

Feel free to point to an example of me being a happy clapper - I’ll wait.
Like I said, there are people who need to be called out (Rodgers mainly, Tielemans, Soumare at times as well as others) and I have called them out for poor performances throughout the season. I just don’t see how Maddison is victim number one…although the last line of your post suggests you’ve got a some sort of vendetta against him so maybe that explains it. What’s your justification for calling him toxic?
His involvement in the lockdown house parties, arguing with respected local journalists, being the only player that was vocal in his regular support of Rodgers and thanking him when he left, spending more time on the golf course and snooker halls than on the training ground, not playing after returning from the World Cup as he wasn’t in the correct mental state (Southgate alluded to his shock at him not playing as he said he was in good nick when he left England), then you have the whole past demeanours of wearing Derby County shirts and his embarrassing Cov love in.
Anything else you need to know?
