Too casual from too many

Justin is a shadow of the player he was. I’m not really sure what he’s good at any more.

Don’t know if it’s just a projection, but people banging on about the commentator given our very worrisome performances on and off the pitch should be literally bottom of anyone’s list of concerns very revealing.

It’s fair to say our current plight is likely a mentality issue - but isn’t it down to the manager to address that? Be that through man management skills, or adapting the style of play to a more pragmatic one the players feel more confident in executing?

Our position is so inconsistent, it makes no sense. For me, this is the most revealing point - I’d live to hear the club’s reasoning on why they were posturing to sue Everton (even if we later withdrew) when they knew we were staring down the barrel of this? Over the past year or two, we’ve taken the following positions at varying times. Some of them are clearly inconsistent with the others: - We can spend anything on players, to ensure we don’t breach the rules! - (6 months later) We’re going to spunk a load of money on players, rules be damned! - This other team has breached the rules, we deserve compensation! - We may be on course to breach the rules, but you haven’t made it clear enough when they can be applied and by whom, so we shouldn’t be penalised! - The rules are shit anyway, we should be allowed to pursue our ambitions! - We got relegated, so even if we did breach the rules, we didn’t get anything out of it! Forget what you think about the rules for a moment - that’s a separate debate and one the club has only conveniently decided to get involved with now it looks set to be punished by them. I’m sorry to say it, but those in charge are even more incompetent than I initially thought.

Putting aside for a moment the fact that the EPL and EFL are over-reaching on their own ill-defined, poorly thought out and incompetently managed set of regulations - do we know why we were posturing to sue Everton when we must have known we were heading towards a breach?

EFL and PL love extending punishments for frivolous appeals, so you’d hope the reverse would be true too! What a farce football is eating itself.
