  1. Thanks, that is interesting. Is that an amendment to the new policy? Because that was never mentioned when farmers were protesting against this. So if the new owner keeps the farm for 7 years there is no IHT liable?
  2. Can you explains how that covers the IHT with small margins and limited profits?
  3. Who will buy them when the next generation can’t afford the inheritance tax?
  4. The farmers tax will likely lead to farms being sold to big companies. Labour are done, they might not be getting amazing press but they really haven’t helped themselves.
  5. Funding source != cost at the point of entry If you're going to be pedantic...

  8. have you got more information/details on what the tax gaps are?
  9. Good practice for when AI has replaced them
  10. People will have to re-train and work where the jobs are, the diversity of jobs will massively shrink so it will be a case of finding something rather than choosing (unless you're already financially independent)
  11. And just to tie that ☝️ into everyone's favourite topic.... immigration! The narrative that we need millions more people in the near future to fill jobs roles, doesn't take into account the millions of people already in the UK that will be unemployed in the near future. Which I can't work out is either just stupidity/ignorance from our esteemed politicians, or something else.
  12. Oh yea, we are all going to be screwed. The economy will collapse, it’s just a matter of when not if. Already RIP to these industries either already gone or on life support: - copywriting - videographers - photographers - animators and motion artists - graphic designers - software engineers - coders/developers and followed soon after by most office jobs that involve processes on a computer. The industries that are safe (until we have robots) won’t have any customers that can afford them, unless they only trade with people from similar industries. Their tax levels will have to be 80-90% to pay for the millions of unemployed.
  13. Around the same amount of relevance that werewolves, vampires and pumpkins have to death.
  14. Do you mean classes together as a religious group? People of all ethnicities can be Muslims, the same for any other cult or religion. I’ve never heard that, who is equating race and religion? And yes it’s tiring, although you seem to be mixing up ethnicity and religion yourself in that last paragraph.
  15. Islam isn’t a race.
  16. It is, and that is exactly my point. Never mind!
  17. This is why PR would be better
  18. Growth is measured against GDP at a starting point. If the GDP is less than other countries then even if both improved by the same amount it would be easier to have a larger percentage growth whilst actually growing less. i.e. the UK had a GDP of around 3.5 trillion USD last year and say it grows 10% that would give it a GDP gain of of 350 billion USD. And the US around 27 trillion USD last year and say it only grows 5% it's 1.35 trillion, half the growth percentage but almost four times GDP growth last year the UK was around 4.5% the Q4 2019 (pre covid) output, whereas the rest of the eurozone was around 6% ahead - so we were behind already - so easier to grow in percentage terms
  19. It’s easier to grow when you’re starting from a poor position
  20. Oh well never mind. Frees up some taxpayer cash too looking after the monster.
  21. You said Judaism and Islam were the only two ancient monotheistic religions. You omitted Christianity which is 600 years older than Islam.
  22. It’s six centuries younger than Christianity?!
  23. There is a good reason he knows she isn’t Madeleine…
  24. Most ethnic Jewish people now are from Eastern Europe (Ashkenazi Jews) who migrated in the 10th century.
  25. Would the second ban undo the first? Like double negatives in grammar
