  5. Bought my ticket for Animal Collective at the Warehouse Project when I was a bit pissed last night...
  6. Boyfriend's away for a week, I'm on closes every night until Friday at work and the weather is beyond shite, so not the best really... But **** it, at least I know keeping a good stock of quality wine is sufficient to keep me happy
  7. People who call going to university "going to school". It's not ****ing "school", you left that several years ago. And it doesn't ****ing sound cool so please just call it what it is: it's ****ing university, I'll even accept "uni" at a push as I'm a tolerant guy. The ***** who live next-door who think it's acceptable to still be listening to loud music at 2am. In fact this applies to anyone who thinks playing music at high volume into the early hours in a residential area is acceptable (i.e. ****ing students). It isn't. Pub customers who think they are in the know compared to me, and yet completely and utterly aren't but won't accept that fact.
  8. "I'm in clef"?
  9. lol lol Ashamed to admit it but that put a massive smile on my face
  10. "Bloom", New Beach House album. Alright, but not quite hitting me like Teen Dream did...
  11. Seeing Sharon van Etten at the Deaf Institute tonight.
  12. I couldn't agree more, although for me it's the "quiet, polite boy" rather than his female friend that is unfeasibly sexy. Every time one of those adverts comes on it's like "****'s sake, not this shit again", followed by patiently waiting for glimpses of the cute guy...
  13. To be fair although I go to an awful lot of noisy gigs it's not often they're as phenomenally loud as last night (and a good part of the experience of seeing APTBS live is experiencing the sheer volume). I think the fact that I never, ever listen to music through earphones also means my ears are probably in a better condition compared to the teenagers whose ipods can be heard from the other end of a noisy train carriage. But if post-gig ringing starts failing to wear off after events, I guess it would only be wise to start considering ear-plugs...
  14. Now I have a slightly tense wait to discover whether or not I still have any hearing in my right ear...
  15. Also for those of you in Leicester, don't miss the chance to see the brilliant, brilliant Lovely Eggs on Saturday night. Trust me, you couldn't possibly regret it. http://www.seetickets.com/Event/THE-LOVELY-EGGS/Soundhouse-Leicester/616364
  16. On Thursday:
  17. Good point. I wish there were cinemas that would just ban food and drink from the auditorium altogether, surely there's a market for that? Like the over-18-only screenings of non-18-rated films which now exist and are a brilliant idea.
  18. Seems a bit harsh if she really was just using her phone to try and find her seat, or even if she was texting discreetly. If she just had the phone out and was texting away so that other people could see the light from the screen during the film then fair enough, the cinema got it right...
  19. I don't know why but at this time of night that is really, really funny.
  20. For about the millionth time this year...
  21. Not a "joke" as such, but some of these tweets are really rather marvellous: "How Twitter users turned the tables on the English Defence League" http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/apr/16/twitter-users-turned-on-english-defence-league Think my personal favourite is:
  22. I went into the local library and asked if they had any books on the Titanic. "Oh yes, quite a few", the Librarian said. "Sorry to hear that", I replied. "They'll all be ruined by now". ---------------- Two Irishmen stranded on an iceberg. One says to the other, "Look, we're saved, there comes the Titanic" ... Both courtesy of the ever-reliable Sickipedia
