Sorry but Perez was a much better signing.

Perez started every game of our FA Cup winning run and was instrumental in the final goal. He also scored a hat-trick in the 0-9.

I'd argue neither of those things would have happened if Dennis Praet played instead of Ayoze Perez.

He delivered a hell of a lot more than Daka, who also joined when we were good lest we forget.

The fact that Perez was a regular starter for us is precisely why he was a more damaging signing.

Don't get me wrong, Daka was an awful signing and a worse player than Perez and I say that as someone who was very excited when we signed him.  He was the chosen successor to Vardy and signed after the FA Cup win which I would call the beginning of our decline.  We were shielded by Daka's crapness however, because Vardy continued to play for the next 3 years.

Perez was Rodgers first marquee signing in 2019 and played for the Champion's League chasing sides.  We had quality from one to eleven in that team, except for the glaring powder puff weakness that was Ayoze Perez.  I don't know why you bring Praet into it (another terrible signing)  since they play in different positions, but I believe that had we got that final piece of the jigsaw right we would have got over the line in terms of CL qualification and who knows what might have been on the back of that, hence why he was a more damaging signing.  I also think that because of his price tag along with the fact that we suspect he was Rodgers' pick, meant that we persevered with him for far too long.

The accidental pre-assist in the final when the ball hit him on the thigh and dropped to Luke Thomas remains his greatest achievement in a Leicester shirt.

  2. Somehow, for me, Perez was an even worse signing than Daka.  Flyaway, lightweight nothing player.  Not as bad a player as Daka but for the level we were at, bringing in Perez cost us so dearly. The one glaring weak link in that team.

If we had got that one right who knows what we might have achieved or where we might be now.

We have had plenty of Danny Wards in our team. A few of them still on our books: Daka, Hamza, Faes.

Disagree with this.  We have many despicable footballers who have given up but the Danny Ward level is a special category of incompetence out on its own.  Daka is close to joining this exclusive club.

... And yet I'd still pick him ahead of Ayew.  Worst striker options we've ever had.

All I’ll say is heed the warning. We’re heading in the same direction under this clown.

They're just a bit further down the same path.  A strong possibility that looking at Wednesday is a glimpse into our own future.

I dont like faes (based on his football more than anything else), but I dont think he is a twat and have never understood it. I remember when he signed being buzzing that someone so obviouslt wanted to join us! What are the actual reasons that he is a twat?

Arrogance.  Thinks he's too good for us despite two relegations and being just as culpable as the rest of our deadwood.  Even now, at our championship relegation level, he has proven to be not good enough. He would be the last to realise that we are not beneath him.

Keeps trying to move and seemingly baffled that no one wants him.    I get the impression that in his own mind he thinks he's virgil van dijk but in reality he is more Dick van Dyke.

Also his lantern-jawed clown-haired face is just irritating beyond belief and he has certifiable relatives.

How awful is Vietes, seems odd given his pedigree that hes not been given so much as a cup run out.

    Pedigree?  What pedigree is that?

Mostly played for Betis B.  A handful of first team appearances making his debut in a 5-0 loss twice, for two clubs.

He was a free transfer signed to be third choice for a reason.

My dad is a Lincoln City season ticket holder, we both feel it’s inevitable one way or another that Leicester will, for the first time in both of our lifetimes, no longer be the top ranked LCFC in England.

I have watched a number of their games this season, so well coached, a great feeling of togetherness around the whole place. A breath of fresh air compared to our shower of shite.

There may only be one LCFC left within a couple of years

Considering  we paid 18M for Soumaré  17 for Praet  22 for Daka 30 for Perez and paid 12 for Ward after 2 Matches for Liverpool not sure we did overpay  for Skipp 20M isn't that much money these days.

You are a listing a pattern of failure there, not market values.  None of those are worth what we paid for them.

As with all things, context is everything.

If he has 3 or 4 more years here playing well as he has this season, then the price tag doesn't matter in the long run.

But if you view him in the context of him being the most expensive player in our promotion campaign, when we were probably more lacking in other areas, then yeah he probably was a bad/overpriced purchase.

It's not his fault he's got that price tag, and the lad we have in the club at the moment is one of the few to come out of this season with any credit. So I don't think it's for to hold it against him.

Being OK in the Championship and failing to pull up any trees is not good enough for a marquee signing, signed to play in the Premier League.  He is far from the worst offender but there is no way he comes out of this season with any credit in my opinion.  There's no 'probably' about it, he was a terrible buy and vastly overpriced.

And don’t forget his agent and the agent who represented us worked for free as well

It was a free transfer because we needed a third keeper.  All transfers need agents etc. and it was likely the cheapest way of filling that squad place, having lost iversen and Ward in the summer.

Of all the things wrong with the club that you could choose to get angry about, it seems very odd to dig your heels in and fixate on this.
