They won’t tho will they. The Championship is an incredibly physical league.Maybe not quite as athletic as the Prem, but a lot more physically tough and demanding.Throwing a load of 16-17 year olds up against seasoned Championship teams, in desperation, is not going to result in a positive outcome.
In hindsight, we probably should have played Evans or Hutchinson up front. Our senior options are so comically poor that we wouldnt have lost anything by taking the gamble and those kids would be further along in their development and closer to being ready themselves.

I hate to break it to you but I suspect many of them feel like that.
You think?
You seem very phlegmatic about the fact that these dossers are putting in half-arsed performances on stellar wages and generally taking the piss out of the club and out of you.

Everyone knew he was going to be shit he sat on the bench at palace for a reason and then we paid 5 million for him and that's on Rudkin and his brilliant scouting
Actually it's on cooper, Ayew is his man, but Rudkin or Glover should have overruled him not indulged him.

We've been wildly inconsistent all season, I wouldn't be surprised by any result in any fixture.
It's stringing together the results we need to stay up that's the problem.
Thin margins though, because who knows what happens if Okoli doesn't have the biggest of brain farts 5 mins into King's tenure?
Or if we score that last minute winner vs Stoke?
After Wednesday, we are bottom of the form table. One win in nine. I'd say we are pretty consistent.

We will definitely be conceding and that will be 30 consecutive league games without a clean sheet. Does anyone know what the record is?

I agree but who do we bring on for Daka when he's knackered after 70 minutes of endless if aimless chasing around? Richards? Though it seems he's not an out and out striker either. It's another mind boggling thing that we failed to bring in a central striker in the January window.
Amen to that. Absolutely stupefying.

What signs would there be that a win is coming? Playing well and not winning?? If so, then the second half at Stoke was a good indicator, if not the Boro game.
We just got beat by the most in form team in the division, this place is hysterical at times.
We probably won't get anything at Ipswich, but then should be looking at a run of fixtures where we can pick up a few wins.
We haven't won since January. It is far from hysterical to ask the question.

Our defence is so bad that I think to win a game we need to somehow score three, although the last time we did that, we still lost.

Seriously cannot be arsed to check ... but as our striking options how many goals have Daka, Mavadidi, Ayew and Fatawu managed to get between them
I wanted to check, so I put Leicester City top goalscorers into Google and it just laughed.

Nope, the sky commentary team says it every live match - we have a very talented group of players who's application this season has been a disgrace and shouldn't be in this position.
The whole squad have been a disgrace to the club and badge, absolutely ****ing shocking.
That's exactly the point I'm making.

Yes, most of the 13 I highlighted were a joke. You do not appear to be joking with your additional list, but you have indeed made your point.
TBH I was really just hoping you'd be daft enough to big up Joe Aribo, but I got 'Luke Thomas is an FA Cup Winner' and 'ignore Daka's five years with us' as a bonus.
Still waiting for you to name me another Championship squad that has the pedigree we have...

The squad is listed below.
I've highlighted the players who I think might be described as have 'played and proven themselves at higher levels'.
I think I've been incredibly generous in terms of what 'proven' means, and also wrt when some of them last did whatever it might mean.
Can you tell me who I've missed, because it's a long way off 'almost all of them'?
Jakub Stolarczyk
Fran Vieites
Asmir Begovic
Caleb Okoli
Harry Souttar
Jamaal Lascelles
Jannik Vestergaard
Ben Nelson
Victor Kristiansen
Luke Thomas
Ricardo Pereira
Olabade Aluko
Harry Winks
Oliver Skipp
Choudhury (when I said generous, I meant it)
Jordan James
Joe Aribo
Michael Golding
Louis Page
Aaron Ramsey
Divine Mukasa
Bobby De Cordova-Reid
Jeremy Monga
Stephy Mavididi
Abdul Fatawu
Wanya Marçal
Patson Daka
Jordan Ayew
Dujuan RichardsOk - so that is 13 players that you have highlighted in bold.
Of the greyed ones:
Stolarcyk has played and played well, in The Premier League.
Jordan James has played in the French top tier and a full international
Fatawu has literally got a Championship winners medal, a full international, the youngest of the Ghana players that played at AFCON
Kristiansen - Danish international and played in Serie A for Bologna who finished fourth
Joe Aribo - Nigerian international, runners up in AFCON, won the SPL and Scottish Cup with Rangers, 53 Premier League appearances
Patson Daka - Championship winners medal, four Austrian Bundesliga titles, Bundesliga player of the season, Zambian International played at AFCON, played in Champions League and Premier League.
Luke Thomas - FA Cup winner, 82 Premier League appearances, England age groups up to U21
That's another seven to add to your thirteen. The rest are highly rated kids breaking through such as Monga, Page, Nelson, Mukasa and all capped in their international age groups. Nelson having earned rave reviews at Oxford last year and former academy player of the year.
I think I have made my point. These players should be doing much, much better and what they continue to serve up is a disgrace. Now. can anyone name me another Championship Squad that comes close to ours in terms of pedigree?

Can’t score and can’t defend! Every team that we play against let’s us have the ball and when it gets to Okoli they press us knowing he is so so shit they know it’s going to be gifted to them somehow.
Why persist with this 4231 with feeble and half arsed players and wingers who have been found out. Bin it and try something basic like a 442 to try and galvanise them and nick a win!
442? We haven't got one striker, let alone 2.

Be all and end all, they’re just not very good players.
Even at 0-0 in a first half where they really did put the effort in, you knew we were going to concede at least two and probably lose. At set pieces it was like man v boys.
Just a shite team put together by morons.
That's just not true and it let's them off the hook.
Almost all of them have played and proven themselves at higher levels but there is a malaise over the club and a general lack of fcks given by these mercenaries that are just seeing out their contracts.
This squad should be challenging for promotion. Rudkin stitched us up before a ball was kicked by thinking we Could get bywithout a proper striker but it is a scandal that a £150m squad gets relegated from the championship

Not saying it would have been any different but at least try 2 up front.
You’ve got to try something different.Controversial. Surely you're not calling for Ayew and Daka in the same 11?
That would be like playing with 9 men instead of the usual 10

Patson runs around trying hard but can not put the ball in the back of the net, which is his main job.
You're right but we don't have an alternative who can put the ball in the net, so we should take 'running around and trying hard' as it's better than ambling around a bit, out of position and falling over.

That argument falls down knowing Ayew is out of contract in the summer though - effectively, we have the services of both players for the same amount of games.
I'm optimistic that Rowett will have seen Jordan slow down our game and fall over himself last night and draw the conclusion the last three managers have failed to - that he's a waste of time and we need to try someone else in rotation with Daka. I reckon we see Richards start to get minutes in the next few games.
You do realise that Rudkin is just waiting for the ink to dry on Ayew's new contract and pay rise?

I think Fabregas operated as the false 9 in 2012. He dragged the centre-backs all over the place and created space to run into. Who is our closest player to Fabregas?
Fatawu.
We're talking alphabetically right?

21 minutes ago, BrilliantFox said:What does the source say about what the power dynamic between him and Rudkin will be?
Because he can be the perfect guy, however still rendered ineffective if Rudkin puts his two cents in.
That is the reason that pressure should still be applied to make Rudkin take accountability for the damage he has done and be removed. We should not be appeased by sleight of hand job title changes. Rudkin has to go.

I would put a big lump like Vestergaard up there to cause a bit of panic. I had advocated this weeks ago as our conventional options are so pathetic.

It's just scandalous that the club has failed to address this not just once, when we managed to find the only striker worse than Daka and Ayew, but twice, when we failed to bring in a striker in January.
We deserve to be relegated.

"Evolved" Leadership Structure To Drive Long-Term Stability & Success

Absolutely scandalous that the most senior position overseeing the footballing side has gone to the man responsible for overseeing all of the staggering previous failures.
Surely we can't let this pass.
