  1. Leicester City Win U16 Premier League Cup! A Jake Evans rocket deep into extra-time saw Leicester City's Under-16s beat Manchester City 2-1 to win the U16 Premier League Cup. A penalty from Evans opened the scoring at King Power Stadium before Christian Dunbar-McDonald sent the game into extra-time, when a stunning second strike from Evans decided the cup final in favour of the Foxes. City were up for the occasion and started strongly in a game which consisted of two 40 minute halves, forcing a chance early on at King Power Stadium when Evans' trickery allowed the winger space to cut inside on his favoured left foot, but the final effort hit the side netting. Leicester's left-back William Daniels was looking dangerous, attempting to find his forwards with early crosses but to no avail, before Man City had their best chance of the half, when the ball fell to Regan Heskey after bobbling around in the box - but he fired over the bar. Jake Evans scored a brace in the final. At the start of the second half in the final, the hosts were once again in the ascendancy, producing good moments from wingers Jeremy Monga and Evans, coming closest when a good run from Luqman Aideed ended with Louis Page firing over from inside the six yard box. The persistence did eventually pay off for the young Foxes who broke the deadlock with little over 10 minutes to go from the penalty spot. Daniels' cut back to Monga put the Citizens' defence on edge, forcing them to go to ground, fouling the No.7 inside the box; Evans then stepped up, sent the 'keeper the wrong way and rolled the ball into the bottom left-hand corner. Unfortunately for Leicester, Man City fought back and equalised with five minutes to go, when Dunbar-McDonald took advantage of two defenders, fresh into the game, cut inside and found the far corner past Freddie Marson. Into extra-time we went, with 10 minutes to be played in each half, and the first couple of attempts fell to the Leicester goalscorer, who got the ball on the wing and hit the side netting before testing Oliver Whatmuff from range. With both teams getting tired on their feet, the game needed a hero, and it appeared in the form of Evans for Leicester. Great credit has to go to Aideed for driving into the Man City half before playing the ball to his team-mate who did the rest, finding the underside of the crossbar before the back of the net to crown the Foxes as champions. City: Marson; Sutherington (Jacklin 74'), Diallo (Toko 74'), Adedeji, Daniels; Lawrence, Page; Evans, Aideed (De Lisle 92'), Monga; Hutchinson (Owusu 87'). Subs not used: Stretton. Goal: Evans 68' (pen), 95'.

Albrighton’s contract at the King Power Stadium expires next month and he is “more or less sure” that Saturday’s season-closer against Blackburn was his final outing for the club. A total of 313 City appearances puts him 29th on the club's all-time list. While City were there to wrap up their campaign and lift the trophy, the match was a celebration of Albrighton too. He was given a standing ovation when he warmed up in the first half, he was handed the captain’s armband by Jamie Vardy when he came on as a substitute in the second period, and had his every touch cheered by the 30,000 home fans. Then, Vardy called on Albrighton and Ricardo Pereira to help lift the Championship trophy. Joining as a free agent from Aston Villa in 2014, Albrighton has lived the City rollercoaster, surviving the Premier League in dramatic circumstances before going onto to win the top flight title, scoring the club’s first Champions League goal and claiming the FA Cup. Finishing with more silverware ends the past 10 years on another high note. “I’m more or less sure that was the end,” the 34-year-old said. “There is no official confirmation but to bow out in this manner is the perfect way to go out. We achieved the goal we set out to achieve at the start of the season. That was always our goal. To achieve it as a group of lads and people and footballers, we have proved we’re the best in the league this year. “(The love from the fans) was not something I expected or take for granted. Every time I came on to the pitch the fans took to me and really warmed to me. But I’ve warmed to them as well. It was a special moment to share that with them today. “Days like today don’t come around often. A lot of players go through their whole careers without winning anything, so to be able to experience this I don’t take it for granted. It’s fantastic to spend time with the families and the players. “It’s been incredible (the past 10 years). I’m grateful just to play one professional game. To play the number I have and to win the trophies I have has eclipsed my wildest dreams. “I never believed when I came here that I was taking such a forward step. But I did that. We escaped in the first season and then the rest is history. It’s not all ups, there have been some downs, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster but one I’ve enjoyed. It’s got a happy ending.” While he's leaving the King Power Stadium, Albrighton does not feel ready to retire. Now he's on the hunt for the right club to spend the final couple of years of his distinguished career, where he can add to his 436 senior appearances. "I do feel like there are minutes left in my legs, a couple of years maybe," Albrighton added. "But everything has to be right and fit into place. It has to be the right thing for me to do, whatever that is, I’m excited to find out."

  8. well he missed adding 2 mins onto the extra 6 where the player was down injured so you're probably correct.
  9. I seem to remember it be some kind of club/membership shop. Not s wholesale as they didn’t seem cheap maybe to keep the plebs out. Never been in there since myself.
  10. In the past there were suggestions to move it as a put up take down market in Gallowtree or Humberstone Gate but I believe it’s known as the largest permanent covered outside market in Europe, well something like that.

  18. Same here I had to move to a different turnstile along with the rest of the queue. Everytime she offered her phone all the lights turned red. A Steward tried to help but failed then they got another one that's when I gave up and moved.
  19. If you were in the corner of the Kop/East Stand the atmosphere post game was brilliant with the players 'performing' their celebrations in that corner. If you were elsewhere I'd imagine you'd feel left out. As for during the game well there was nothing in that to raise any excitement, it was like an exhibition game with no exhibits.
  20. They've had debates with the club and been shunned and dismissed at both meetings and left them with a 'We're not backing down' What would you suggest the 3 fans groups should do next?
  21. Surely they know the owner of each card as you enter, yes they can be passed on but if that proves problematic then they know who to punish. Besides they surely know that fans can and are passing on the digital passes. You missed out that no other club is taking such a draconian approach to introducing phone entry, most of them seem to be using the positive version of incentivising buy offering inducements and rewards for changing. They're offering a dual system of card and phone to enable fans to familiarise themselves with the system. Even the clubs approach to allowing passing on to family and friends is significantly poorer compared to most clubs Overall a hearts and minds approach rather than what comes across as 'fans' who needs them?
  22. Two rows of stewards/security all around the pitch one set inside the advert boardings and one pitch size. Definition of overkill.
  23. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/emotional-goodbyes-full-time-reaction-9264993 The club-made montage of the success this season on the big screen set the tempo before Union FS's spectacular tribute to Jamie Vardy pre-kick-off was a touching bonus to the afternoon. '190 thank yous will never be enough. Jamie Vardy, Leicester's greatest' read the banners across the East stand and Kop stand alongside an image of the striker. The fan group have are renowned for producing top-tier pre-match tifos and they said before today that this one would be the biggest and best yet. Stretching across two stands, the full image is one that will stay in the memory of the fanbase for years and years.
