Doesn't matter if you want to or not you can't say with any certainty if the opportunity will ever come again so you have to take it. Besides even going up and coming down will, or should strengthen the financial status of the club where as missing out will weaken it. If it happens you just have to grab it with both hands.

Not sure it's to be trusted “Jimmy Kimmel just lit the fuse no network dared touch — and Colbert lit it with him. But the real gasoline was poured by Simon Cowell. Yes, that Simon Cowell — the TV kingmaker who turned global television upside down with American Idol and The X Factor. Now he’s stepped off the judging panel and into the media battlefield, igniting a war no one thought possible.” What began as fallout from one controversial remark about Charlie Kirk’s killing has spiraled into nothing less than a media rebellion. Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, once rivals, shocked the nation by announcing the launch of an uncensored, unscripted news channel outside ABC and CBS control. No approval. No filter. No safety net. Just a vow to report what the networks won’t. But then came the Cowell twist. The man synonymous with brutal honesty and global stardom declared that he would back the project — not as talent, but as architect and financier. “Television has become weak,” Cowell said bluntly. “It’s sanitized, it’s corporate, and it insults the intelligence of the audience. I know what people really want: the truth, raw and uncut.” His words sent shockwaves through both Hollywood and Washington. Why would Kimmel risk his career at ABC now? Why would Colbert abandon his CBS empire to stand with a rival? And why would Cowell, of all people, throw his weight behind a crusade against censorship? Insiders whisper that Cowell’s involvement could give “Truth News” something Kimmel and Colbert alone couldn’t deliver: legitimacy and global reach. With Cowell’s track record of turning ordinary talent into household names, fans and critics alike are asking — will he now turn two late-night hosts into the faces of America’s most disruptive news experiment? The implications are staggering. A network run not by politicians, not by corporate boards, but by entertainers turned rebels — with Cowell’s no-nonsense vision shaping its DNA. If successful, “Truth News” wouldn’t just change late-night; it could rewrite the very future of American

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-citys-alves-undergoes-surgery-10532608 Leicester City's Will Alves undergoes surgery after 'freak' injury The 20-year-old attacking midfielder only managed four appearances for loan club Huddersfield before suffering the foot problem, which will keep him out for 'months' Jordan Blackwell 07:00, 28 Sep 2025 Updated 09:35, 28 Sep 2025 Will Alves has undergone surgery on a “freak” foot injury and will miss “months” of the season for loan club Huddersfield Town. The Leicester City attacking midfielder only managed four appearances for the Terriers before the bad news arrived this week. Alves had missed the midweek cup tie against Manchester City and, speaking on Friday, Huddersfield manager Lee Grant confirmed that the 20-year-old would be on the sidelines for a period of time with a foot issue. Grant said: “We are going to be without Will Alves for months rather than weeks, which is really disappointing. “It’s a real big blow. He’s come in and been so bright with his energy, so bright with his performances. “We’ve been very careful to manage his minutes and manage the physical exposure that he’s had, and then you do all of that, and then something freak comes out of nowhere, and he gets a foot injury. “It's really disappointing for Will and really disappointing for myself and the playing squad.” Alves added: “Gutted to be missing part of the season due to injury. I’ve had a successful operation and can’t wait to be back playing with the team soon.” Scoring with the first touch in his league debut for Huddersfield earlier this month, Alves had made his first start for his new club last weekend and looked set for a prominent role as they compete for League One promotion. The season-long loan was a big opportunity for Alves to get a significant number of senior minutes under his belt. After losing a year of development through an ACL injury, he spent the second half of last term on loan in the Championship with Cardiff. He made the loan switch to Huddersfield in the summer having been unable to force his way into Marti Cifuentes’ plans.

Story of Leicester Skeffington House (now Newarke Houses Museum) is seen here decorated for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It was built between 1560 and 1583 and is the only surviving Elizabethan urban gentry house in Leicestershire. Thomas Skeffington, the house´s first owner, was Sheriff of Leicestershire at the time of the Spanish Armada. Its original look showed the stone building material, but it was much altered by its 18th-century owners. They built a brick extension and clad everything in stucco (plaster) to give it an elegant Georgian appearance. The house is now part of Newarke Houses Museum; Leicester’s social history and Royal Leicestershire Regiment museum. Discover the history of the Leicestershire Tigers Regiment, including a recreation of a First World War trench and find out more about Leicester’s famous son Daniel Lambert as well as visit a 1950s street scene inspired by Wharf Street, Leicester. John Ghent Leicester Estate Agent · Follow Leicester’s Lee Circle – 1955 A brilliant blast from the past! This photo was taken in early June 1955, before the famous multi-storey car park was built. Back then, Lee Street was still at ground level and the circular area you can see was a simple open car park. The picture hints at a city on the cusp of big change—factories on the skyline, chimneys pumping smoke, and rows of tightly packed houses soon to give way to modern developments. Today, doubts hang over the future of the Lee Circle car park that eventually replaced this scene. Do you remember this view, or have stories from the Lee Circle days? Share them below—let’s bring these memories back to life. -

I was in a queue that stretched all the way down to the railway bridge on Aylestone Road when I joined it. Must have been a cup game in the 60s when it wasn't unusual to fill the ground. I think they only had a couple of turnstiles open on Filbert St. They were amateurish back then as well.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
davieG replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Premier League wants minimum six-point penalty for serious breach of planned spending rules Premier League wants minimum six-point penalty for serious breach of planned spending rules The Premier League is planning to introduce a minimum sanction of a six-point deduction for serious breaches of the new spending regulations it wants in place next season. Under draft proposals for the squad-cost ratio (SCR) system shared with clubs at their shareholders’ meeting this week, a fixed tariff for overspending would be introduced for the first time. Related: Premier League: 10 things to look out for this weekend A club guilty of breaching SCR by 30% would be docked six points. Extra points could be deducted on a sliding scale for more serious breaches of the spending cap, which would restrict spending on transfers, player wages and agent fees to 85% of revenue. Smaller breaches would be punished by a financial levy tied to the percentage of the overspend. The Premier League declined to comment. The clubs have been debating for 18 months replacing profitability and sustainability rules (PSR), which allow a maximum £105m loss over a rolling three-year period, and much of this week’s meeting was spent discussing potential sanctions. The league informed clubs there would be no fines for minor breaches during the first year of SCR to give them time to adjust but that the points-deduction threat would be in place to guard against egregious overspending. SCR would operate in real time rather than retrospectively, enabling the league to monitor spending during the season and apply sanctions if necessary. The retrospective application of PSR rules has created problems for the league and tension between clubs. Everton were found guilty of breaching PSR rules for the period ending with the 2021-22 season but were not docked points until November 2023. Had the eventual six-point penalty been applied in the 2021-22 season, Everton would have been relegated and Burnley would have stayed up. Burnley are involved in an arbitration hearing with Everton, having filed a claim for £50m in compensation. Everton have paid a much smaller amount in compensation to Leeds, who lost out on prize money after finishing one place behind them, in a dispute settled out of court. Fixed tariffs would also bring greater clarity. Nottingham Forest were given a four-point penalty in March 2024 despite having overspent by more than Everton. The clubs will discuss the issue again at their next shareholders’ meeting in November, when the league wants a vote. As a result of qualifying for Europe, nine clubs are committed to a system of SCR operated by Uefa, which caps player spending at 70% of revenue. The league plans to reduce its limit to 70% over the next three years, and there is cautious optimism among the executive that it will be approved. A resolution in November would give clubs clarity before the January transfer window regarding which rules will be in place next season. If the vote is not carried, PSR will continue for 2026-27. There remains less confidence at the league that a second set of new spending rules known as top-to-bottom anchoring, which would cap each club’s spending at about five times the bottom side’s central income from TV revenue, shared commercial payments and prize money, will get the 14 votes needed to be introduced. No club currently exceeds the five-times multiple, which if in operation this season would have been pegged to Southampton’s 2024-25 Premier League income of £109.2m, but many of the bigger teams would like the flexibility to do so. -
If it's intended as id proof to work why will it need to be compulsorily? Retired people generally don't work and many don't have a phone I don't understand the logic behind it.

https://fawslfulltime.co.uk/2025/09/24/sheffield-united-sign-leicester-city-keeper-keane-on-emergency-loan/ Sheffield United have completed the signing of Leicester City goalkeeper Katie Keane on an emergency loan deal. The Blades announced the news via a post on their official club website afternoon. The 19-year-old will spend the next week with Sheffield United. The South Yorkshire club have made the move for the youngster with their goalkeeping department having been severely impacted by injuries. Number one keeper Sian Rogers is still recovering from injury while Charlotte Parker-Smith is also sidelined with a knock. Keane joined Leicester City last month following a short spell with SSE Airtricity League Women’s Premier Division club Shamrock Rovers. She penned a three-year deal with The Foxes and is very much seen as one for the future. On the international stage, Keane is yet to break into The Republic of Ireland’s senior side, however, she has played an important role in the Under-19 team. She recently represented her country at the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship. It has been reported that Keane is available to feature for Sheffield United in their Subway Women’s League Cup group stage match against Durham at Maiden Castle this evening. The two clubs begin their involvement in this season’s competition up in the North East.

If we ever want to get some return for these players they need to be seen to be involved as counterproductive that may be in the longer term but with our current state money comes first. -

Archaeological Services, University of Leicester (ULAS) · Follow We are uncovering remarkable archaeology ahead of redevelopment at Leicester’s market place — including Roman buildings, medieval market surfaces, and the remains of a long-lost civic landmark. This image shows our team investigating the thick stone walls of a late medieval dungeon, likely part of the Gainsborough Chamber — a building that once stood in the market for 100s of years, used for shops, judicial and mayoral business, and a prison (!). Excavations are ongoing, and we’ll be sharing more discoveries soon!
