  1. I see Jimmy Kimmel has had his show cancelled for making a quip. Whatever happened to 'free speech' ?! Seems like some have gone a bit snowflakey...
  2. Decent goal as well to win it!
  3. Wow
  4. 'bucket list...'
  5. 0% if he's on the bench
  6. One off. Each European competition has an 'exclusive week' in the league stage. CL's is this week.
  7. Yeah the highlights. I thought TNT still did a goals show though, like a soccer special for the CL on Tues/Weds.
  8. Doesn't look like there's any goals show for this week's games
  9. Glamorgan struggling vs Derbyshire. 102-6.
  10. Despicable acts. Look at the nose on the guy on the bottom right
  11. In the interests of fairness, I know someone who was in MH crisis, had a breakdown, was seen by a GP on a Monday as the last appt (5.30pm), referred to MH Team to be assessed by the Thursday. Was seen by a specialist by the Friday and was given medication to use for two months. Seen 3 times within those 2 months to monitor the health and the medication dosage. End of the two months they were off everything, assessed again and recovered...
  12. Was it constantly on the up, or did it have any/many dips?
  13. What a fvcking cracker to win it as well.
  14. Haha Tim Vine is exactly who he reminds me of!
  15. It's been debated as you wished since you asked it, not all posts have mentioned any side of politics...
  16. What's the cost difference here? I know you mentioned £4bn earlier. What money would be brought in if the richest of the rich were taxed more, even at 1-2% extra?
  17. It's another cost to add in though. In terms of a policy, to add it in now when so many in general are suffering from a cost of living crisis would be disastrous.
  18. Having said that, I've just looked it up and it's despicable how targeted Abbott has been over the years. Starmer has to pick better advisers too (I know Ovenden has already resigned/left). Even so, it's bad enough facing shit from your opposition, but to have it from your own party is arguably even worse.
  19. Sorry we're discussing something else right now
  20. Would you not see a similar scenario as to what happened with the energy welfare payment? Those who just miss the cut off/threshold will be hit the hardest and feel the impact more just because they earn £5 or £10 more than the threshold? I think it's breaking something that doesn't need fixing. Or at least not fixing in such a way. If better/more funding was put into the NHS it would appear less broken and take funding from elsewhere (now that is another argument/debate as to where from!!)
  21. But it's part of the argument. A wider one too, but the alternative currently is private hospitals to pay for healthcare. It's just a comparison. It's not a dismissal of your points/questions.
  22. Aren't they the only ones bringing this in as a policy? Hence why there's probably a mention or reference to Reform in their answers. Don't think it's worth getting that worked up about or offended that Reform are mentioned considering they're the only ones thinking about doing it. People, for generations, have been used to free healthcare. It's the beauty of why the NHS was created but also one of the better parts of our society and culture, as you mention. It's another expense to think about, isn't it. Even if it was 'only' £20. It starts at that cost, hypothetically. Can you see it going down once it's brought in? In terms of society, it totally alienates a whole demographic and will probably push a lot more people into further poverty. Due to rising bills and costs of living, add £20 to that (just for one appt?) and it's another bill to pay or cost to think about. It'll be a disaster if you can't afford it, and those that can't afford it will feel it the hardest. Think it's harsh to call it an 'irrational fear' as well. It's a legitimate one.
  23. You see some clips sometimes of Farage supporters being interviewed. They've got no idea what a Reform government would do once in power (apart from stopping the boats). When they're told the rich will essentially get richer and that they may need to start paying for NHS/Healthcare, they're baffled. A lot of the voters are wrapped up into the only one thing that they seemingly are supposed to care about - boats and immigration.
  24. Don't think it's a left wing echo chamber at all. We can all have reasoned debate and there's a reason why this thread has stayed open so far... Fingers crossed it stays that way...
  25. Any specifics you'd want to chat over?
