Wasn't sure about the teams Mexico played in this unbeaten Azteca World Cup record and how strong it actually is... 1970 - El Salvador, 4-0 win - USSR, 0-0 - Belgium, 1-0 win 1986 - Belgium, 2-1 win - Paraguay, 1-1 - Iraq, 1-0 - Bulgaria, 2-0 win 2026 - South Korea, 2-0 win - Czech Republic, 3-0 win - Ecuador, 2-0 win Apart from this year, what were some of those teams like? Weren't USSR and Bulgaria strong for that era?

Anyone else find this cringey? Not that it's Maddison, but just the feel of it?

Watching the highlights back. What a performance . So many key moments outside of the goals and controversial points. Pickford's saves from Jimenez. He was actually quite commanding in his box especially when the pressure was mounting towards end of the game. Bellingham's block/tackle almost on the line. The countless blocks from Burn, Rice, Stones. Epic game, one for the ages.

I'd like to think now we're all a bit calmer majority will see it was a penalty. Modric did the same to us in the first game. Kane kicks the players leg and fouls him, doesn't touch the ball. How clear and obvious it is is another matter. But VAR will intervene with anything these days. Thankfully it wasn't too costly!

Our defence vs Haaland worries me. But stop the supply to him and we should be good...
