Interesting decision having won the toss and elected to field away to Northants, would of thought today would of been perfect for batting, though I know nothing regarding the pitch could be a green top, although Northants are currently 47-0 which would say otherwise, could easily end up being batted out of the game, which is Leicestershires last chance of grabbing an away 4 day win this season, add on last seasons zero away 4 day wins that would be 2 seasons and 16 matches without an away championship win! No Hoggard today either. We need to get off the bottom of one of the leagues this season, somehow. -

Taylor only scored 10 off 15 balls as well, not enough in a high scoring game, cost Notts in the end. Great knock by Boyce against Yorkshire in the Championship, 3 batting points as well!!!!!!!!! -

Ok so Razzaq top scored today vs Durham but he batted almost the whole 20 overs for 47 runs putting immense pressure on the other batters to get on with it, he scored 26 runs 5x4 1x6 off 6 deliveries so his other 21 runs came off over 50 deliveries that is terrible! Sarwan run out for the third consecutive match, does he care? I hear they are looking forward to getting back to red ball cricket..............what a joke! -

I agree with the fact we are going to be in Div2 for a long time to come but we can take heart from Derbyshire at the moment, thay are a very similar club to us but if things are done properly smaller clubs can do well, they are currently top of Div2, Sussex are small but are an established Div1 side. What are they doing right that we arent? -

Taylors bowling in the T20 has been impressive, he has the makings of a useful allrounder, for us and then Notts in 3 years time seen a different Matt Boyce lately, good positive batting. With Cobb Smith Buck Taylor Naik White Eckersley and the all new Boyce we have the core of a side for a few years if they stay, 3 or 4 changes and a few clever signings in the close season maybe its not all gloom and doom. -

I did think your comments were reasonable until you mentioned that there should be a 1 day international at Grace Road! Who do you fancy England vs Australia? With Trent Bridge and Edgbaston being such fantastic grounds and so close there is no chance of Grace Road ever being an international ground, there was international cricket during the world cup years ago, but again? I dont think so. -

If you go back over the last 20 or so years we have won more trophies than many other counties, LCCC are just in a massive rut at the moment which nobody seems to want to get out of! In a country with the population of 60 million I dont think 18 first class counties is too many, but I understand your concerns about first class status Leicester would be first to go if it ever happened. -

Truly awful in all forms of the game, its getting to be an embarrassment. -

Not sure if T20 is Thornleys type of game so guessing he wont play, Berrington has not played for us so assuming he wont play, not sure about Mommsen. Just read Jefferson is not playing which is a disaster, seems to be always injured these days. Can only see a defeat for the foxes in this one, if Cobb goes early were doomed, doomed. Could be a low scoring encounter with the weather as it is. -

The team I would like to see start for LCCC in the T20 would be- Cobb Sarwan Jefferson (if fit) Ali Du Toit Eckersley Razzaq White (the order from 4 -8 can change around depending on the state of the game) Henderson Buck/Malik Hoggard Boyce 12th man The 5 main bowlers would be Hoggard White Buck Henderson and Razzaq with Cobb and Ali supporting with a few overs. With the state of things at the moment I feel this is a reasonable side, but the top 3 must not get out cheaply if we are to score big, which we need to do as our bowling has been conceding runs in all forms of the game up to now. -

The Netherlands were really impressive, batted, bowled and fielded far better than Leics. Saying that though we may have had a better chance if the batting order had been different, Eckersley and White should of batted before Smith and Thornley, the latter 2 were so slow eating up the overs when they should of cracked on with it. -

Great effort by the 2 century makers to guide us to a draw and 6 points. Glamorgan missed a trick here by providing a flat dead pitch. -

Could not go far wrong trying to sign some of the Unicorn batters, they battered Leicester second team in both 20ov games at Grace Rd chased down 170 odd in the first game for the loss of only 1 wicket and then chased down 180 odd in the second game for 4 wickets. They looked hungry and eager to succeed. K Ali scored 110 in the second game and still finished on the losing side! -

For those with slightly longer memories this is Whitticases second spell as first team coach, we were in Div 1 in both Championship and the old sunday league at the time and had never been out of the top division in either when he took over, guess what happened that season. I can only see an innings defeat for us in the Kent game, with us possibly only taking 1pt from the game, then we travel to Glamorgan next week in a game we cannot afford to lose, now summer has finally arrived and games are not being rain affected (so no buffet bowling)I cannot see how we are going to win a game, which is exactly the same as last season. We have a losing mentality in 4 day cricket and I cannot see how we are going to get out of the rut we are in. We should be able to compete with Derby, Northants, Essex, as these are counties with a similar stature to us but we are getting left behind, why?????????? -

We need to be batting till after lunch tomorrow which means Jefferson Sarwan and Cobb need to score big with White and Eccersley chipping in, dont hold much hope for our tail again, if we could have a 200 lead by lunch saturday we may have a chance. -

2 down already second innings and still behind, think we will be hanging on to salvage a draw from a game we scored 372 1st innings. -
Noel Gallagher in Nottingham in September, looking forward to it already!

One of the bigger counties will come in for him to play T20 cricket (Notts probably) they seem to have enough money just to sign players just for 1 day cricket, but I hope with him being a Leicester lad he may stay. It seems in the last 10 years or so certain counties have become far wealthier than others it used to be more of a level playing field where LCCC could hold their own but not now, it really is a them and us state of affairs, can anyone realistically ever see Leicestershire winning the County Champinship again? its hard enough just to get in Div 1 when your best players keep getting cherry picked by the big boys! Time for a transfer system in cricket so the smaller counties at least get rewarded for bringing good players through, its too easy at the moment for the likes of Notts to take our players, I realise they paid compo for Taylor but they got Broad and Gurney for nothing. -
The BBC series Yellowstone was a fantastic programme, just got it on Blu ray, definately worth watching.
