The second of my big 3 fancies of the meeting (joviality won yesterday at 14/1) is The Fugue in the 305. Hills went 5/2 earlier. Got it big time twice in running in the Oaks yet battled back to finish 3rd and 1l off the winner. I thought she would be shorter price but when that email landed in my inbox from Hills promoting 5/2 I thought oh dear they're laying the wrong horse - I'll have some of that!!!!

2nd last.... my other placepot selection came nowhere as well! Crash and burn...

Have none. I'm waiting for The Fugue tomorrow in the Ribbesdale and Laugh Out Loud on Friday in the Coronation Stakes. Although there is rain due tomorrow.... L-O-L can perform on gd/sft and The Fugue was a good 4th on gd/sft in the 1000 guineas (although this years race is difficult to read form wise). Interestingly L-O-L and Electrelane were a good 10lengths clear of the rest of the field at York. L-O-L has gone on to win a group 2 in Chantilly by 2 lengths. L-O-L was 1 length clear of Electrelane in that York race. Electrelane has gone onto win the German 1000 guineas (group 2) quite well. Electrelane is running later today in the last race. I'm struggling as to whether I should back her or not. The negative is that she is top weighted. She is 7/1 and 1/4 odds 1-4 I might but half a stake ew on for interest. I do want to watch the race because it will be interesting for LOLs form. edit: I wrote L-O-L and this popped up

Winner!!!!!! My tips on here were +£ and now have gone even bigger...

There were massive problems in running with the unfortunate The Nile (rip) breaking down. My bet today is on Joviality in the Windsor Forest Stakes (3:05). 14/1 each way. My eye catcher from Oaks day at Epsom when she lost a few lengths because he couldn't handle the camber and was struggling. My only concern is that she might need further then 1mile.

Time for me to let the thread down.... Lockantanks 4:15 at Chester. I think definite place credentials at 8/1 ew.

Gatewood had a great run from what seemed 10-15l behind. The Fugue was desperately unlucky. We don't know how much the major interference had on her but her connections were not at all impressed. I thought she got a bit more in the straight as well. She isn't a quitter though as demonstrated in the 1000 Guineas and she rallied on well late but oh so close.... What do people fancy for the Derby? I'm currently going through the race and will post my fancy (likely to be Thought Worthy ew) later on. Edit: Thought Worthy 16/1 ew and Astrology 8/1 ew.

I also strongly fancy Gatewood (2:15 epsom). Stats for the race and form add up. 11/4 most places. I think having it in a double with The Fugue would also be a good idea.

Get stuck into The Fugue in the Oaks (4:05pm Epsom). 3/1 everywhere but StanJames are 10/3. The way she won the Musidera (one of the major Oaks trials) was very impressive. It was a 10f race and Buick was sitting still well into the final two furlongs. She was travelling beautifully and took the lead before Buick gave her a small bit of hands and heels and she quickened like a rocket. She had a lot more to give. Will go the distance. (my horse tips on this site are profitable if you backed them).

Laugh out loud or cry laughing WINNER!!!!!!!! Just for the record it was 11/4 when I tipped it (sp 2/1) - this is for my record on horses on here (profitable and very good strike rate)

Chookie Royale in the 7:10 at Catterick. You should be able to get 5/1. It was 8/1 this morning. My strike rate is reasonable with horses (look back at my previous posts), something like a 50% win ratio.

Only 4 horses. Went off 10/1 rank outsider. Finished 2nd to the short priced fave who showed a bt of class. Was 26 lengths ahead of 3rd. Next time out.... TODAY Utopian in the 5:15 at Fontwell. 9/4. Hows My Friend in the 4:55 Towcester. 5/1. I've had same stake singles and double. Double pays just over 18/1.
