Do you like vegemite too?

In Spag bol?!?!?! Then that's Spag <something else>, certainly not Bol!!!

Vegetable gravy granuals is a delicious way to thicken up your spag bol (used with quorn mince of course) I may well give marmite in it a try soon

I do like vegimite. I have a NZ friend who swears by it. But it can't touch the mighty marmite. Bovril's good too

Seriously in bolognaise it's lovely. Gives it that extra tang

Like any other emetic, eh?

My mother always used to put gravy in bolognaise, but I use tomato purée as a thickener instead. Can't remember why I swapped, think it's something to do with Mr Lisa. He doesn't seem to see the benefits of adding Bisto.

I have tried, my dear, but alas with little success. He made Shepherd's 'Poo' the other day, and although he swears he used gravy granules, I couldn't taste any of it's meaty goodness.

I can't and won't be drawn on this spag bol 'additives' topic but I will say this... Jacket Potatoes are the most underrated snack food of all time.

With cheese and beans?

Cheese, beans and sausages and bacon, yes!

I'm loving the extravagance!

Yeah, I had vegemite while working in NZ and holidaying in Australia.

They are really keen on it down under!

As to using strange ingredients in bolognaise, the problem is that it's not bolognaise anymore!!!

(Fussy Italian viewpoint :) )

Tomato purée would be my thickener of choice for that dish too :)

Do you mean generally or in the spag bol?

Of course, you meant in the spag bol!

Hmm well, good luck! :P

It's more authentic, I believe?

Extravagance is my middle name.

Well, actually, Gordon is my middle name, but I'm sure you take my point. ;)

I think the badger's snout was well and truly hit there.

Note the use of 'snout'; I much prefer this version, thank you please!

Definitely, that's what Italians would use... :)

Yay!! I've got something right!! Although to be fair, my spag bog rocks!

Somehow I knew the way I did it would be 'wrong' ;)

I'm sure it's lovely, it's just that I'm too easily excited over very mundane things. Plus I live with a Virgo, so it's got to be done proper.;)

I'm a virgi.. errr virgo too!

No you're not, you're a sagittarian so your joke doesn't work.
