Captain... Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 First off Inler is not shit, you can see his class, but he hasn't done it in the last 2 games. This may be down to the way we play. The similarities with Cambiasso are there and Pearson spent a lot of time trying to find a formation that allowed for his class on the ball but protecting the fact he didnt have the legs. Those formations didn't work until we settled on 3 centre backs and then we really saw his class. People talk about Cambiasso having a great first impact, but that was playing in a midfield 3. Give him time and he will come good, at the moment we are at our best playing all out high energy football, that isn't Inler's game.
car1os Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I see that Drinkwater said in an interview that he couldn't put his finger on why they keep conceding goals early... Simply put, we concede with Inler on the pitch and we score when he's off it. I think we should start our next match with the XI who finished against Stoke. I said this after our 3-2 against Villa - we didn't do that and we played poorly in our first half against Stoke. I hope Ranieri sees sense, and brings Inler on for more Premiership experience when it's suitable to do so. Kante should start with Drinkwater, Kanté looks an absolute star

Kante should start with Drinkwater, Kanté looks an absolute star This is getting a bit tedious and too many people start believing developing myths instead of re-watching the games in question. Inler isn't the decisive factor why we're leaking goals early. The majority of goals against are down to individual mistakes on the right or left (but the right in particular), whilst Inler can't backtrack fast enough (certainly not fast enough for some fans), trying to make up for errors committed by fellow teammates. Once the coordination between defense and midfield has been fixed, he'll be able to demonstrate what he's made of.
