Matt Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Everyone knows where i'll go - Australia, I have been 2 times, and will be going Christmas 2006, Basically I only have to pay for the flights because I have family over there so its not cheap but I can afford to make more trips than usual to Australia. Its just great over there, I love the Australia's perspective on life, Australia's are so laid back, they are fit (And England is turning the way America is, I am thin but England is becoming like America when it comes to obesety now) they have a great way of life, the weathers great, they are friendly and I just love it. It stupid but I am closer to my family in Australia than I am with my family in England, I only see family in England occasionally round my nans but the rest of time I see them at funerals, birthdays, christmas, and the other odd occasions, but I probably speak and see my family in Oz more. Everyone knows what I want and everyone knows my plans about moving to Australia in a few years, I want to move out there and I would get citizenship reasonably easy because I have family out there and I have trade, so in a few years I will probably go for a 12 month working holiday with the option to live, i'd like to live out there but it so far to come home again, I have nothing apart from family/friends keeping me in England, but although I slag England off I think i'd be hard to move to Australia long term - i'd have to review it after the 12 month working-holiday I think.
Hitesh Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Australia is a place i have always wanted to go to!! I have seen it on TV and my mates have been and it sounds like a quality place. And whilst im there i would like to go to Fiji! On this side of the earth, i wouldnt mind travelling to Dubai.
TrickyTrev Posted 10 September 2005 Posted 10 September 2005 Too many to mention. I'm not very weel travelled, never been out of Europe, but there are so many palces I would love ot see. Beijing, Tokyo, Venice, Florence, Valley Of The Kings, Great Wall of China, Grand Canyon, Manhattan, Rio De Janerio and Moscow are amongst my top priorities.

It is surrounded by a natural reserve (of the marine type) - you don't even need to scuba dive, you can simply snorkel. It's awesome!!!!!! Other things I remember: - a small gecko on the inside wall of my accommodation - finding myself in the middle of a shawl of fast-swimming small fish... - a golden, colourful sunset

The smell and the spirit is intoxicating. Punting on the river in Central Oxford during midweek with a lovely lady, strawberries, cream and a bottle or two of aperitif wine. Bradgate Park on a sunny winter's day after a snowstorm - with a toboggan and a tipple. Walkers Stadium: On a balmy evening with the floodlight reflecting an earlier shower and with the team transmitting their love of the game with their spirit, their skills and an abundance of goals. FRANCE: Walking through the eucalyptus trees and hearing the crickets in Les Iles De Lerin off the coast by Nice laying my towel down on the empty beach with fresh grapes, bread and cheese before enjoying a quiet bit of skinny dipping in the twilit warmth of early evening. Grasse market square at the time of the perfume carnival with the wonderful atmosphere of young and old alike joining together in dance and often playfully lustful celebration. Monaco in May - simply soaking up the atmosphere of the Glitterazi in and around the harbourside cafe's and inside the atmospheric casino. ITALY: The warm and wonderfully hospitable island of Capri a couple of inlets away from Gracie Fields' old house. SWITZERLAND: The James Bond restaurant atop the Alpine Massif and the promise of moonlight skiing down a fairy-lit piste to a fondue party at a traditional mountain lodge amid the slopes themselves. None would mean an exhaustive journey, uncomfortable temperatures, the irritation of endless biting insects, the spending of exhorbitant amounts of money yet all would remind me of what a wonderful world we live in - especially given the right company.

Was only there last week horse-riding along the Thames side common (near the Weston end Park and Ride) and enjoying a picnic in the sunshine courtesy of the wonderful baquette shops along the Banbury Road. Don't get there so often now but when I lived in Brackley I did a fair bit of training around the college playing fields and ruined it all with the partying afterwards!!!

If you go to Australia you could also do Dubai as well as Fiji, because when I go to Australia I always fly from Birmingham because otherwise I would have to travel to Heathrow and that's just extra pointless traveling added onto the long haul of the flight, Flights that go from Birmingham to Australia (Melbourne) are run by Emirates, when you go from Birmingham you effectivly do two flight because there is no straight through journey, so you get plane from Birmingham to Dubai (About 7 Hours - At Dubai you change planes, there is about a 2/3 hour wait) - Dubai to Singapore (About 7 Hours - At Singapore you either get off the plane opr stay on the plane because its only a re-fuel at Singapore, which takes about an hour) and then Singapore to Melbourne (About 7 hours) Obviously you could have stop off overnight at Dubai or Singapore, but I never have i've done the whole trip which kills you, but its an experience () on my last trip the last 3 hours of the trip getting to Australia I was ready to kill someone, I just wanted to get off the plane. The first 7 Hours to Dubai I find are easy but its the waiting in Dubai where it catches up with you I find. Next time I go I would like to stay in Dubai for a day or two, but because of work and I book time of holiday I prefer to spend as much time possible in Australia and a stop off at Dubai would just take up time in a busy schedule. The best experience I had was flying back from Australia, I was checking in to go back to England () and the woman at check in said "I'm sorry but we seem to have sold your seats so what we'll do it upgrade you to First Class absouloutly free" (This is First Class )

I flew to New Zealand with Air New Zealand. They go via Los Angeles, so I had a one-week stop-over there. I actually bought a ticket that read: London-L.A.-Auckland-Christchurch-Sydney (on the way out), so I flew to Australia "for free" and spent one month there over Christmas/New Year. On the way back, I had the following stop-overs: - Auckland (2 weeks), - Fiji (about 10 days, 3 different locations), - Cook Islands (1 week), - Hawaii (Oahu and Maui), 1 week, - US (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, L.A. again - 2 weeks, separate cheap flights), then flew back from L.A. to London. All that travelling gave me lots of headaches/migraines for a few months though...
