fuchsntf Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Exactly- as much as I rate DD and Kante, they don't score goals. Compare with Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla etc. IMO there's too much pressure on Vardy and Mahrez, as well as over playing them. Need a genuine no. 10, who scores goals + cover for Vardy, so he can be rested. Just a thought for you, and others who have taken this line. We counter attack, at pace depending not on players coming through and backing up, but that 1st ball after a couple of 1-2s , is dispatched soon as it is received. So the midfield players are really down the chain. We attack differently to Arsenal, though the odd time we've seen DD and Kante let off a couple off crackers, if 1/2 had been goals, we would be talking differently.Ramsey Ozil, Cazorla, at Arsenal are playing a different game, plus they do have more experience at the top level, in their own game, and together.
char123 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 To be honest I thought vardy looked alot sharper yesterday than he has in while. Just need to wait for him to get back to full fitness. Mahrez on the other hand hasn't looked interested for a while.I think he was looking like he used to as well, much sharper and getting in better positions. If u have seen the video of inaki williams i think him and vardy would make a great upfront pairing with mahrez just behind them

Very fair point. However, aren't oppostion teams playing a different approach to us now? Playing deeper- just like teams who play Arsenal often do. I just think we need to vary our style a little to counter this. Teams know that if they stop Vardy + Riyad, they've stopped our main threat. Has anyone else noticed how Riyad gets fouled heavily sometime during the first half? Someone else mentioned that we're missing Sclupp- agreed. Albrighton is good but he hasn't got his pace. We get very few byline crosses from the left. This surely means that oppostion defences can concentrate on our right hand side making it harder for Mahrez.
