GaelicFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 One of my arsenal mates has heard that he is their top target this summer and negotiations have been under way for some weeks. Vardy ? Your Arsenal mate needs to stop listening to his Spurs mates , cos they are taking the piss out of him
weller54 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 No words can describe your knee jerk stupidity. Mahrez is off form so he must want out. Gestede is a good impact player! Are you for real? Never said Gestede was Good????.. Just pointed out he came on and changed the game for them... He won everything against Huth.. And scored the goal.. Facts! As far as Mahrez is concerned I cannot understand what's happened since the Everton game and yesterday we might as well have played with 10 men.. He was shambolic and cost us 2 points almost single handedly!.. Inexcusable!
GaelicFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/leicester-were-complacent-against-aston-7192740 Good article in the mirror re vardy and Mahrez Read better on here to be honest In most papers today that huge bids are coming in for both before the close of the window... It certainly looks like Mahrez doesn't want to play for us anymore?.. Get rid! 30m plus I think I will agree , his head is turned

Stop trying to make out that because a shite striker had an inspired 20 minutes that somehow means we have no impact players but lowly Villa do. Gestede will win everything in the air against most players, he's good at that, but other than a flukey turn with a handball in the middle he was marshalled pretty well.Mahrez went off the boil a bit earlier in the season and missed a few games. He just needs dropping for a game or two and he'll be back. Just needs a kick up the arse. It's not ideal, but if we had players that were expected to be world class for the whole of 38 game season they either wouldn't be here any more or we wouldn't be described as surprise title contenders because we'd be expected to be there.

GaelicFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 OK.. Name an impact striker we can bring on off our bench? None !
volpeazzurro Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Vardy has been the epitome of the true professional ever since he arrived. So much so that he perhaps needs protecting from himself. He has manfully played on through injury and yesterday I too saw the return of the sharpness he's known for and he's deserved our patience. Mahrez for me is a little different and a quandary. A bloke behind me in the crowd yesterday commented that Mahrez has got a touch of the Billy Big Bollocks and is not putting the effort in. Possibly some truth in that but could he also be carrying a bit of an injury, could oppositions have worked him out somewhat? What we do know is that if he'd scored those 2 penalties we'd most likely be sitting 5 points clear at the top this morning. Two terrible powder puff badly placed penalties. Shouldn't need a rest as there are others who have played more and worked harder. I think just a dip in form and combination of all of the above and no panic. However for our next league game, I'd have him on the bench with Gray on the left and Albrighton in his best position on the right. Unlike some others, the wings are an area where we can afford to rotate a little.
Jimothy Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 OK.. Name an impact striker we can bring on off our bench? Name an impact striker Spurs can bring off their bench? Or Man City (let's be honest Bony hasn't worked out there)? Or Man Utd? Or West Ham? Or even Arsenal, they switch Giroud and Walcott, but who's there's striker from the bench?
shade Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 OK.. Name an impact striker we can bring on off our bench? andrej kramaric?

That's the difference!
HighPeakFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 andrej kramaric? The Law of Kramaric strikes again. Honestly guys, go do something else.
Jimothy Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Arsenal have the ability to score goals from Midfield (Ramsey for example).. We DON'T!.. That's the difference! So you can't name any for those other teams? Great, my first point proven. Now you're changing your moan to we can't score from midfield, make your mind up. Is it that other teams have impact strikers, or is it that they can score goals from midfield? We've not done bad to be at the lowest 2nd after today consider those two major flaws. Oh by the way, our right winger (part of the midfield) has score 13 league goals.
what? Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Not sure what to do about Mahrez. Gray is likely to start in the replay on Wednesday and Spurs will come at us with both barrels so he might not be up for replacing Riyad at Stoke. Vardy certainly seems to have gone off the boil but a lot of that is that he's not getting the same quality of delivery from Mahrez. Gray looked very promising at WHL and he's already got one assist. I'd like to see Jamie start on Wednesday as see how they link up together. If Gray can get him firing again then it might give Marhez a bit of a wakeup call seeing his partner connecting well with someone else.
weller54 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We're so one dimensional... No plan B.. If Vardy and Mahrez are struggling (like they've been since Everton).... Then we've no goal threat whatsoever!
coolhandfox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We're so one dimensional... No plan B.. If Vardy and Mahrez are struggling (like they've been since Everton).... Then we've no goal threat whatsoever! Shame Ulloa can't find the form of the start of last season!
weller54 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Shame Ulloa can't find the form of the start of last season! Finding the difference between his right and left foot would be a start!
ThaiFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 OK.. Name an impact striker we can bring on off our bench? Vardy........and before you laugh, think that if he came on for the last 30 minutes he would be fresh and playing against tired defenders. He is about 65% fit at the moment, has just has an operation and needs time to build up his strength and fitness to the standard he needs to play at his usual level. A spell as an impact sub would give him a chance to really get fit and give 100% in those last 30 minutes. Play Okazaki in Vardy's position from the start. As for Mahrez, he was poor yesterday and the last two or three matches. After the way he destroyed Villa at the KP I would have thought he'd been really pumped up for yesterday. I was shocked to see him lumbering around with no passion or real interest and it looked like that spread around the team as the match wore on. Ranieri should have subbed him at half time and brought on Gray. It looks like Mahrez is believing all the hype around him and it's gone to his head. It seems no coincidence that since the transfer window opened he's been poor. If he wants to go, he must, because we don't want his passionless performances to infect the team, and I don't want the team becoming disheartened by his lackluster performances. I really hope it's a blip from Mahrez, because he is a sublime player. However, we were pretty good without him at Norwich (far better than Tottingham, Bournmouth or Villa) and I don't see why a spell on the bench would do any harm. We can't play as a ten man team, hoping he performs. But only CR will know what his mood in training and the dressing room are, and it'll be up to him to either kick him up the ass, put his arms around him, get rid of him, or inspire him. That's what a manager is paid for and Ranieri has had a fairly easy ride to this point and now it's time to see what he's made of.
Ozwin Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We are top and these two have been injured/out of form for weeks. Imagine when they come back into form again!
harpendenfox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Mahrez clearly is enduring a dip but not Vardy. He hit the post against Bournemouth and very nearly scored a brilliant goal last night but for their keeper. There was always going to be a dry spell after the magnificent 11, I'm quite certain he will be amongst the goals again soon
leicesterseddon Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I'm not too concerned about Vardy - he's been struggling with an injury for a while, but looked sharper yesterday. Even when he's not been at his best he's given teams problems, and I'm confident he'll be back on the scoresheets soon. Mahrez is a slightly bigger worry. He was marked out of the game at bit at Liverpool, but his other poor performances have been largely of his own creation. He's still arguably our most skillful player, but he's just had no impact at all on most of our recent games. I'm slightly more concerned with him because his old weaknesses (laziness and keeping the ball too long) seem to be creeping back into his game. Given all the speculation about him, it's obviously a worry that he's had his head turned and isn't putting in the effort. I hope I'm wrong, obviously. Still - if his poor form continues, it won't be possible to justify not dropping him. Would be a big call though after his performance in the first half of the season.
Chester Dontlie Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I think yesterday Mahrez just couldn't pick himself up again after that penalty miss, his confidence was gone and what's worse, he rarely tracked back to help Simpson. He looked like his head was somewhere else. I can only imagine the big firms knocking at his agent's door atm, hopefully he'll sort these things out and will start giving his 100% for Leicester again. The sooner he gets his magic back the better. I'm much less concerned about Vards. Seems like his form is coming back and he proved that he cares when he got that yellow for chatting shit to their full back later in the game.
blueharmie Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Yeah mabye explains the hands on hips from Vardy. Getting annoyed with Billy big bollocks?
enmac Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Arsenal have the ability to score goals from Midfield (Ramsey for example).. We DON'T!.. That's the difference!Exactly- as much as I rate DD and Kante, they don't score goals. Compare with Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla etc. IMO there's too much pressure on Vardy and Mahrez, as well as over playing them. Need a genuine no. 10, who scores goals + cover for Vardy, so he can be rested.
Captain... Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 FFS, have a word people we are currently joint top and a large part of that is down to the fantastic half a season (not a few games, not a good start, half a season of being phenomenal) that Mahrez and Vardy have had. As already stated Vardy has just had minor surgery, there is no way he should be playing right now, he is a beast, but it is understandable that he won't be 100%. Mahrez looks off his game at the moment, no worries, he has put enough in the bank to be allowed a few bad games without fans jumping on his back, he has played a lot of football in a short space of time add to that international commitments and maybe he is just shattered. His performances do deserve some criticism as they have been below par, but they haven't been disgraceful as some claim, and he doesn't deserve anything other than support from our fans. Yes his 2 penalty misses have arguably cost us 4 points, but take away his goals and assists and you will see he has won us a lot more points than he has cost us. It was clear on Saturday that Villa had a plan for us, they surrounded our key men at every opportunity, Vardy and Mahrez were double, triple even quadruple teamed at times, their cards are marked and they aren't going to be given the space they were afforded earlier in the season, which means other players need to step up and take advantage of the space created. Drinkwater did with some great forward runs and shots, as did Shinji who had one of his better games. We can't rely on 2 players and we can't expect teams not to adapt to counter our style, as a team and as individuals we need to step up when our key men are out of sorts, be it through fatigue, injury, fitness or mentally shot. More importantly as fans we need to be supporting them through this "rough" patch and not getting on their backs.
