Danny Drinkwater almost left Leicester City last season

He's not played that much for Greece according to the stats, only 15 games in all competitions, a combination of injury and not being selected by the looks of it.

He probably knew he couldn't handle another season in the Premier League.

He ran away as quickly as he could.

I wonder how many of those who were loathe to see Esteban go (including me) would welcome him back now?

That's a good point.

If any one of them would prefer him in the team to Kanté or Drinky it would say a lot about them.

Well I saw a post on reddit suggesting we'd be better with a Cambiasso/Kanté midfield and it got like 200 upvotes so that suggests those people do exist

This thread....ran out of control. So DD wanted to leave, sowhat.

My wife, my kids, the cat all threaten to leave me occasionally, even the Goldfish jump out the pond.

Disgruntled by the lack of attention or simply had a better offer?

Sky reports with Drinkwater saying he wants to commit his future to Leicester.

Apparently he hasn't approached the club but they haven't offered new contracts to him and Morgan.

Bang out of order that the club have approached certain players for a contract but have failed to recognise other key players.

Always said this summer was going to be a massive one in the clubs history, keeping key players - new contracts and keeping everyone happy and also signing quality to help strengthen the squad and push on from what we achieved last year. From the outside its looking abit of a disaster at the minute with players not being offered contracts, contracts being turned down and players potentially leaving for low transfer fees :(

When Drinkwater plays well, the whole system of our team plays well. We could, and can manage without him in the side with the depth we have in midfield, but he's ever so key to us and the progression he's made has been fantastic. Hopefully if he stays with us in this window and continues to play in a blue shirt for seasons to come. He's a class act on the field of play - vision, accuracy, link up play, distribution, keeps things moving along nicely and is defensively useful in how he tracks back as well as going forward.
