Dr Christian Koch, 55, from Kleinhartmannsdorf, said his method uses old tyres, weeds and animal cadavers. They are heated up to 300 Celsius to filter out hydrocarbon which is then turned into diesel by a catalytic converter. He said the resulting "high quality bio-diesel" costs just 15 pence per litre. Koch said the cadaver of a fully grown cat can produce 2.5 litres of fuel - meaning around 20 cats are needed for a full tank. He said: "I tank my car with my own diesel mixture and have driven it for 105,000 miles without any problems." Annelise Krauss of the Dresden Animal Protection Association blasted Koch's new diesel though, saying: "This is as bad as experimenting on animals." What gets me the most is how dogs' owners direct their dogs to pee in front of YOUR garden. If you ask them what they think they are doing, they simply reply "well, it's nothing solid"!!! Well, go and do this on your front door then!!! Come to think of it, I would extend to fuel scheme to dogs... or rather to offending dogs' owners

I have often asked dog owners if they shit on the streets as they try and sneak away from their pet's mess. I have also gone out of the house and asked if the dog owner in question would like it if I shat on their front garden, when I lived at my parents. Funnily, you never get an answer.

I don't think it's impossible to come up with cheap fuel alternatives, though I stand to be corrected, but the Government is more than happy to retain the status quo so they can continue their obscene taxation rip-off. Even if we all used dirt-cheap cooking oil or whatever, it would soon be taxed to the hilt. Which of course is a deterrent to anyone intent on developing cheaper fuel.
