The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2005 Posted 15 September 2005 Way back in the olden days, when I was on dial up, about ... 7 ish years ago I suppose, I had ICQ. Until MSN messenger became established, it was my messenger of choice. Do people still used it and has it moved on at all?
Hitesh Posted 15 September 2005 Posted 15 September 2005 Never heard of it! :-s was it any good? Iv always used MSN messenger although i did use a program called trillian, but that had bugs in it!
The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2005 Author Posted 15 September 2005 As I said mate, I used to use it in years gone by. MSN is probably fair better these days though.
Samu Posted 15 September 2005 Posted 15 September 2005 Haha yeah I remember it. I had a contact list of about 7 people and when one came online I thought it was incredible. No one really used it back then as most people didn't use the internet as much as nowadays. Still, good times...
Benji Posted 15 September 2005 Posted 15 September 2005 i've used it a few times, its best feature is probably the offline talk. You can send a message as normal so when the person next signs on they read it straight off. Plus you have send announcements

I use all the networks from the same program (gaim), which acts as a gateway...
BMR Posted 15 September 2005 Posted 15 September 2005 I hated that programme, really hated, the sounds were so stupid as well
Anish Posted 16 September 2005 Posted 16 September 2005 Wahay, I used it a lot too about 7 years ago! It was quality I thought, shame Microsoft had to wreck it by introducing MSN messenger. The great thing was that you could send text messages using ICQ for free and that if you were in 'chat mode' you could actually see what the other person was typing (as they were typing it) and didn't have to wait until they pressed the 'enter/return' button.
