Illgresi Posted 28 March 2016 Posted 28 March 2016 I may have had a strop in the support forum about not being able to post a new thread. Magically it appears I now can, so I'd like to make it a happy and positive one! I'm an Aberdeen fan, and while we are not quite in the same position of power over our league that you guys are, I think there's a slight parallel. Smaller teams, with the chance to win the big trophy. And by f**k do we want to do it. Quite the idea of Leicester winning the league is almost incomprehensible and yet, you are still there. Whatever happens it is an exceptionally admirable season and personally, I'd like to extend to you guys/gals the best of support. In my opinion, English football respresents the same ideology as the Champions League. Rich football for Rich C**ts. I bet the FA are secretly raging that you are in a position to win the league. All the more reason to shove one up them. I won't bore you with much Scottish football unless asked, but I like to think our clubs are in a similar situation at the present time. Granted you have at least four behemoths to conquer, we have Celtic. That is a far higher mountain to climb, but I feel we can still do it. I'd love nothing more than to meet you in the Champions League next year. That said, we'd have to pass 3 qualification rounds to get to where you'd start, so it's unlikely. Anyway, to sign off. Congratulations on your performance thus far, and I'm sure you know, everyone wants you to do it!
Bedford Fox Posted 28 March 2016 Posted 28 March 2016 Thanks of behalf of LCFC fans. And best of luck with your season up there.
stripeyfox Posted 28 March 2016 Posted 28 March 2016 Watched Aberdeen play Hibs at Pittodrie years and years ago when I was working up there. Chucked it down all game. Great experience though. I see the parallel. Anything which breaks the dominace in any sport has to be a good thing. Good luck for the rest of the season.
st albans fox Posted 28 March 2016 Posted 28 March 2016 technically speaking it's the premier league rather than the FA who are responsible for the distortion in finance that blights our game. However, you can't put the genie back in the bottle so what we are doing is the next best thing. Having seen mr scudamore at a couple of games this season, he didn't look to be too upset at what he was watching. Our story will actually help to market the PL around the world. A fairytale is far more marketable than barca/real/athletico year after year. Whilst la Liga have realised the Far East potential by rescheduling a top Saturday game for the afternoon rather than the traditional evening k/o time, the PL is still the major draw for the sports bars of Southeast Asia
