Louise Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 why are we even having this conversation. To show people who want Levein out who they'd be faced with as a replacement, I think. Have you taken in to consideration that you don't necessarily appoint an applicant? Dave Penney from Doncaster was my choice before we appointed Levein. That's true, I don't think Levein applied for the job here, we approached him. However if we were to get rid of Levein we'd be a less attractive prospect to promising lower league managers than we were when Adams left (and even then I'd imagine some of them would have turned us down).
Babylon Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 You have to admit though George Burley is showing what a good manager can do with a team like Hearts. A team like hearts that was built on no money by Levein. Who changed the whole setup of the club like he is doing here. Burley is a fantastic manager, but he is benefiting from Leveins structure, something Levein hasn't had the benefit of here inheriting the adams oap brigade.
cisono Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 Good thread DG. When you look at those applicants it (should) actually make you appreciate CL more. I would be interested who FNQ would like to see as manager of Leicester City (and you arent allowed to say Micky Adams) Thinking of anyone in particular there?!?!
PRIOR09 Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 I would not mind John Gregory being manager of the club. But would i want him instead of CL? I'm not sure.

Babylon Posted 19 September 2005 Posted 19 September 2005 Did reasonably well at villa. Which is why they sacked him.
