You've got to chuck a sickie, illness strikes everyone at some point, if you've got a good attendance record no one will question you.

Can't you just take an extended lunch break ? go to a local and watch the second half ? surely your boss will be ok with that, you're not going to be productive whilst the game is on anyway !!
