An old video from 2014.. but extremely insightful!

Thanks for digging that out. You're right. It is extremely insightful. I am just in awe at the commitment and dedication of those staff members. All sorts of questions were forming in my mind as I was watching it:

1) I wonder how everyone felt at the end of March 2015 when we were rock bottom. Was there ever a sense of 'What's the point of all this?'. Or did the players and staff retain total faith in the process?  (The results after that would suggest the latter, but I'd love to know.)

2) It's great that they try and squeeze every tiny improvement out of players - as Pearson says in the video, if every player improves 1 or 2%, that adds up to a significant difference. The personal video review each player watches after every game, with accompanying 'education'  must be really helpful. But I wonder how far that education goes? Is it limited to tactics and positioning, or does it also cover the players' general on-field conduct? Take Robert Huth. People were commenting on here throughout the season about his reckless behaviour. It's inconceivable that those incidents weren't spotted by the staff. How did they respond?  Is that kind of thing not covered by 'education'? Does he get advice but just ignore it? Or is it accepted by the staff that 'roughing up' the opposing attackers is an effective strategy, even if it runs the risk of the player being banned?  And what about Jamie Vardy? Surely the staff were aware of his problems controling his anger. The incidents in the Watford game (middle finger) and Liverpool game (huge rant at the linesman) could have seen him in trouble long before the sending off reaction that lead to him missing Old Trafford. Once again, no doubt the staff saw these warning signs - how did they deal with them?  I'm not criticising here, I'm just fascinated to know how far our meticulous preparation extends.

I wasn't aware of all the systems used by the backroom staff so that was a very interesting piece, thanks for posting.

Successful organisations have great staff but they also have to have good systems if the staff are to flourish and provide maximum benefit to the company.  The strength of those systems have been proven in my eyes but just as important was the team spirit that NP built and getting the right players.
