I can live with that because I understand why they do it

What?!? Kaka is only kaka because brother couldn't pronounce Ricardo. All these Brazilians just use family nicknames as their football name, yet you're more ok with that than someone like Dele Alli or Memphis Depay using their first name instead of their last because of a family fued? The Brazilians are just being daft, whereas these two are doing it for something they feel really strongly about. Saying that if they feel that strongly against their surname they could just change it, but whatever. My only issue with Alli is his timing and his offer to fans.

But Alli hasn't liked his family for years, why now?

No idea but he's still using one of his actual names at least.

you are wrong to just make out they are only just family nicknames, in their culture many people have four names their given name, which is often two to include a saint's name the mother's last name and then the father's.

obviously using that system names are going to get repeated and there is only a set amount of saint's names they can use so they use different names as you could have a squad full of "smiths" else. sometimes the names are given by the national squad like Back when Ronaldo, (the one who scored the most goals in the world cup) joined the Brazilian team, the squad already had a Ronaldo, who was a defender. So Ronaldo became Ronaldinho. Then another Ronaldinho came along, and they called him Ronaldinho Gaucho, for the area in Brazil where he was from. but When the first Ronaldo ended his career, Ronaldinho became Ronaldo again and Ronaldinho Gaucho lost the Gaucho.

Im sorry I found that really hard to read, I've got a headache now lol

Ever watched a Welsh rugby match? Who give a **** if they've all got the same name. The South Korean football team are all called Lee or Park. Basically for whatever the reason is, the Brazilians are using nicknames which aren't any part of their name, which you're fine with, but someone not wanted to be known by a name of a family they hate but still using a part of their name, you want to force them to keep the surname.

I think you're slightly wrong with your Ronaldo story too, but I can't remember how it actually panned out.

First line is correct not moronic, your post was a nightmare to read. Might have been harsh though, whatever.

Last sentence, all I said was I didn't think that's how it panned out with the names, how the hell is that moronic? Bit sensitive aren't you? lol

And if anyone's a moron it's someone who denies a person the right to divorce themselves from a name they feel no connection to. Sorry Memphis Depay, I know your dad disowned you and you don't want to be known by his name, but Jammie thinks Kaka has more right to be known by his baby brother's gurgling than you have to be known by your first name. lol
