Friends have taken to social media to post tributes to 61-year-old Derek Sturgess from Braunstone Town. On the Leicester Mercury Facebook site Sim Badwal Jhutti posted: "So sad. This man was a true legend. "Made everyone a friend in an instance and made everyone's life filled with laughter. I will miss him dearly. So sad x Derek Sturgess RIP." Tim Lloyd said: "Terrible news. I knew Derek for several years at STW and he was a lovely, friendly man. Thoughts are with the family." On the Leicestershire Police Facebook site many people left messages of condolences. Mary Byrne Robinson posted: "So very sad news. My heart goes out to Derek's family.
