Us winning the BPL and then the Champions League one season after another with relegation also involved would go down as one of the greatest feats within the game as well as being very impressive. 

 

Only Leicester City could do that

Obviously winning the Champions' League and relegation.

 

Mind you if we go down this season and are knocked out at the last sixteen stage I think most fans, in a couple of years time with the benefit of hindsight, would think it was a reasonable swap for a league title and a European adventure the likes of which the club has never seen before or likely will again.

 

It's a major reason for my apathy this season, I think. I don't want us to go down but if we do then so what? It will be the fourth time I've seen us relegated from the top flight and I'll probably see at least that many again before I shuffle off. So given that it was always going to happen at some point anyway, I'm bloody pleased that I've been lucky enough to see us become Champions of England in the same top flight spell. I don't buy the idea that we should be embarrassed if we go down defending the title. **** that; we still won it. 

 

I'm pretty sure we re going down, by the way. I didn't think so earlier in the season but the performances I'm seeing are of a side doomed to the Championship.

As fun as winning the champions would be, the next season would definitely be the least enjoyable ever. Depending on the damage done it could last for 3 or 4 seasons. We can't juggle the relatively easy demands of premier league football and the champions league.

 

Imagine trying to juggle the extra 8 league fixtures and the world club championship. We'd basically be a circus for a season. People going on about how great it is to be in these competitions, but the reality would just be pretty brutal I imagine.

 

Win the champions league and finish 17th, I'd rip your arm off
