Libertine Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 Got this from another forum. What would make up your perfect weekend? Saturday morning? Saturday afternoon? Saturday evening? Sunday morning? Sunday afternoon? Sunday evening?
Guest Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 Saturday morning? A crispy bacon sandwich and a good cuppa, made by the hubby, and brought to me as I awaken from a perfect dream at around 10am Saturday afternoon? Watching City beat someone. Anyone really. Saturday evening? A few celebratory bevvies in a smoke-fee pub, with my friends. Sunday morning? Having a lovely cuppa brought to me at around 10am, by the hubby. No breakfast this morning, but I'll weigh myself, and find I now weigh 8 stone. Sunday afternoon? Having been taken for a lovely meal, by the hubby, we sit and relax with a bottle of fine wine to watch an exhilarating live Premiership encounter. Sunday evening? Sitting in a smoke-free pub, discussing the afternoon's live footy with my mates, safe in the knowledge I don't have to go to work on Monday. Or Tuesday. Or any other day, in fact.

Scow Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 There's a definite theme here, can't quite put my finger on it.... I'm too drunk to identify any theme here.
Guest Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 I'm too drunk to identify any theme here. So am I to be fair. Running half-marathons is great for getting drunk on the cheap!
Thracian Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 Saturday: Up before first light and off to a collectors boot sale in Stratford to search for various things I'm interested in and which I buy by torchlight at this time of year and throughout the rest of the winter. Much more difficult to do this now because of the internet and television programmes but there used to be some real treasures to be found. Anyway there's always something. On the tee at my golf club by around 8-30 and, on an ideal weekend I'd lower my best score for a round and slot in four birdies (which would beat my previous best) and all this while excahnging a few anecdotes with my altogether unstuffy pals. Hurry back for City's home match in which the Ryan Express takes some poor unsuspecting defence apart and we win 4-0 with Humey scoring two, Hammond 1, Sheehan a blistering free-kick and Smith making the lot. Straight into the Real Ale pub by the hospital for a Belgian Honey Beer then back home and out for a meal at The Man at Arms , Bitteswell where two steak meals and a bottle of red come in at just under £12. Sunday: Play my sons at golf in Northampton before enjoying a roast dinner with my family and grandsons and taking in a Premiership match (at the local pub) where both managers elect to play attacking football. Spend the evening writing a poem/comedy script then finally sharing with a nice bottle of choice red wine in front of a log fire with my wife while an Enya or Richard Clayderman tape plays quietly in the background. That I suppose is my ideal mixture of activity and relaxation.
