foxfan92 Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I don't get why people single King out? Subbing Shinj may not have been necessary at half time, I actually thought Shinji was doing a good job making a nuisance of himself and closing United down when they got the ball, but it's not King's fault he was brought on, that was Ranieri's decision. I thought King did as good a job as anyone else on the pitch when he came on. King may not be the most skilful player but he will normally give 100% when he's on the pitch and I think he links up well with DD. People are saying he doesn't make the mark to be a legend, and possibly he won't ever have the impact players like Kante, Izzet, Cambiasso etc have had in the middle of the park, but he is definitely a loyal servant of the club, and a reliable player who will always try to put in a shift for us when needed and won't make a huge fuss when having to patiently bench warm. We need players we can rely on to do a job for us when needed, and Andy King has been someone we can turn to for years. He isn't a world class player, but he's ours, and probably epitomises Leicester City more than any other player through the history he's shared with the club. We need to stop turning on everyone because they weren't gifted with Messi like skill. While the necessity of the sub at that moment, or whether King was the best person to bring on at half time might be questioned, the fact is we'd just conceded 2 goals in under 2 minutes. Ranieri clearly wanted to change things to try something new second half, he was looking to give us more presence in midfield, he'd chosen to bring King over Mendy, these are issues with Ranieri not King, and King just came on, tried his hardest; and perhaps if every player had the same attitude every time they played this season we wouldn't be where we are now.
