Claridge Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Is there anyone out there who would of picked King to come on at half-time? Ranieri has just said that Mendy was available, but he prefered king in the squad. The most baffling substitution I have seen us make this season. Who the hell has been signing these players?

We were still playing 442/4231, he came on to play the link between the midfield and attack which Okazaki attempts to do. Our inability to sign a proper player for this role is a major factor our form this season.

ImBlue Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Even King is getting some after coming on in impossible circumstances
daddylonglegs Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Genuinely **** off. King did no wrong today. He literally cannot do anything right to some people. 350 games. 60 goals for the club. League 1, Championship, Premier League winner. Linked the midfield and attack fine and did as well as anyone else. Much bigger problems than this.
ChownLC Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 We have a £12 million player who cant even make the bench whilst King gets game time hahaha

Second half we kicked off - a bit of fast pace for once - passed to King who mis-controlled the ball and went backwards. Sums him up.

Don't let that get in the way of you bashing players who did little wrong
dmayne7 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Mendy?! He looks like a League 2 player. So unfit it's a joke. Statistically, King has been our best midfielder this year. Should have started. It wasn't him coming on that was an issue but bringing off a striker for a steady midfielder was stupid.
smudger63 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I`m one of those who want to give Ranieri a chance to turn things round, but even i was baffled by him bringing King on at 2-0 down. If we had been winning 2-0 and he wanted to put an extra body in the midfield to see the game out with 15 minutes to go, then i could have understood it, but King is not going to help you get into a game that you are chasing. He could have brought Albrighton on or even given a chance to Kaputska, and moved Mahrez in behind Vardy, that would have made more sense to me.
burleighfox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Yeah he got that completely wrong; King should've been playing at centre half instead of Wes or Huth as even the invisible man himself would've had more of a presence back there.
foxinsocks Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 King will never grab a game by the scuff of its neck. Resorting to him.... as nice a bloke as he is... shows the poverty of our options
LFEFox23 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Mendy not even being in the squad speaks volumes, Guessing he isn't the player we expected him to be? Similar to Musa, Katpuska, Benni, Hernandez, Zieler ?

One assumes your not including losing possession in your analysis there?
SheppyFox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 King is hopeless. I think you should all know by the way, my credentials. Europa League winner with Burton, on FM17. Now the truth is out there about my knowledge and skill on these things, I don't think there will be quite the same level of ignorance toward my posts. Who's laughing now?
lgfualol Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I can see logic in bringing him on. Taking musa off instead of Vardy makes no sense to me. We best keep him happy so he doesn't moan about being on the bench in the championship next season
nickm Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 King was only ever a championship player-he's been out of his depth for years!
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Not the best player but made sense to replace him for okazaki. Although really should have had a proper creative number 10 playing there. I suppose just shows where we are, where king is our game changer and go to guy in that situation. Relegation is looking inevitable

He didn`t do anything wrong, you are right, but he isn`t a player that is going to get you back into a game that you are chasing. Put him on to help see a game out in the last 15 minutes, and that would be a decent move. I certainly don`t atttatch any blame, or even question the performance of King today, i just think it was a very poor tactical sub from Ranieri.

He was appalling at Derby as well,so the question was relevant, would you of brought him on in place of shinji or Musa.If so you are Mrs King
